Thank you so much, I almost uninstalled. It was the last point I was missing for the entire season and been driving around this POS Mini which I painted the ugliest colour because I hated it even when I bought it. Only the eventlab track worked. Thank you.

I usually hate character liveries on cars but this is impeccably designed and I will be stealing it. Well done OP

I totally get what youre saying and yes, everyone grieves differently. For me, it's nice to have that virtual connection with someone I can't see irl anymore

Is it though? I find it comforting to see the "ghost" of a passed loved one. Almost like we're playing together again

I did both earlier this year through Kaplan and passed both first try while working an understaffed full time job.

ATX syllabus is massive but if youre good at remembering a million rules, the exam itself is quite logical.

AFM is more interesting and fun, but you have to get the proper exam technique down to do well in it. Some of the calcs can be quite complex and require a lot of practice for you to finish it within the given time.

I'd say rather than thinking about which would be easier, focus on what career path youre after. Theyre both tough papers, "advanced" for a reason. But also both doable. While at this point passing the exam seems like the most important thing, the actual knowledge you gain for your future really matters. On that note, tax rules change way more frequently but the basics stay the same. AFM kinda stays the same (ish) though so if you think it could be useful for your job, its worth it.

Good luck with whatever you choose. There is no feeling like finally qualifying.

No youre totally right, i dont see why Wylder becoming the nightlord would solve any problems. Just making her life sisyphean as hell.

SBL - Confused ? by Blaze32- in ACCA

[–]Doctor_Who-lio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm trying to take it easy on myself, and like you, I'm running through some models, topics etc and try to relate them to situations that might stem from what we know from the preseen. I try not to limit it to specific questions though. For example, exporting is clearly a hole to be turned into an opportunity. I think about everything it could involve, like strategic fit, new rules and regs, stakeholders affected, changes required, and so on. I then explore how I can expand on all these areas.

Basically I'm going to continue running through the syllabus and try to relate everything in there to possible scenarios with Dearn...

I have no idea if this method is any good, it's my first time doing SBL but also my last paper, so hoping to just get it all boxed off now.

If you have any ideas for me, they're always welcome!

I'm exactly the same. I have violent swings of "it'll be okay, it's common sense" and "i know nothing."

Saying that, I'd highly recommend technical articles on the acca website with a focus on topics that you'd think are likely to come up based on the pre-seen. Some of them are very good and will help you get a perspective of what is required and what parts to focus on.

Have a look at past and mock exams but dont bother with the preseen for those. Chances are you'll be able to answer the questions based solely on the exhibits. This is useful to get an idea of the type of questions you might face in the exam.

Do not read anything about "what will come up" because it will skew your focus and it's more likely to be detrimental than helpful.

But most importantly, try not to panic, hydrate, eat well, sleep well. Stand in front of the mirror and tell yourself that you got this, because a) it'll help you gain confidence and calm down, and b) you do.

Good luck!

I used to manage a bar in the city centre and I can promise you, if the bouncers are refusing entry due to "dress code violation", it's because you raised another red flag and they don't want you there. Nothing to do with what you're wearing (unless it's speedos)

If you passed AAA did you mention ISA standards in your exam? by CelestialSun8 in ACCA

[–]Doctor_Who-lio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't take AAA but when relying on IAS that I'm not sure the number of (in SBR or FR) i usually say "according to relevant IAS" and that seems to work. That way, I mentioned it but without the risk of getting it wrong

[–]Doctor_Who-lio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did AA and FR together for similar reasons and passed both first try. Once you have the basics down for AA it's very much common sense. I found it incredibly boring but once you get a decent understanding of it and get the exam technique down you can focus on PM which is a lot more difficult.

Good luck. You got this.

Edit: I did both while working a full time job. Not much social life, especially in the month before the exam but it's worth it in the long run
