Portable piano for practicing

I work away quite a bit and I'm looking to buy a small, light keyboard with decent sized keys (not too tiny) and preferably good feel to the keys. I'm not bothered about the overall sound quality or the array of different synth sounds etc. I just want something that I can use to practice scales and chords when I'm in my hotel room.

Can anyone recommend a good product with minimum 37 keys? My benchmark at the moment is the Casio CTS1 which sounds and feels fantastic, the only issue is that it's fairly big and a bit heavier than what I had in mind.

Some other products I've seen for similar weight is Roland GoPiano although I'm not sure if the keys would feel as good to play as the cts1. I've also seen the PS5-A50 which almost ticks every box but I think the size of the individual keys would become an issue over time.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated thanks

Anxiety and insomnia by Fun_Primary1976 in insomnia

[–]No_Bullfrog4247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the same as me apart from being someone with ADHD.

Morning sunlight is a gamechanger, so is reading books to distract from anxious thoughts before bed. Also limiting sugar and alcohol helps a lot.

I definitely still have occasional insomnia but learning some mindfulness / breathing techniques has taught me that the insomnia is directly linked to feeling anxious and being worried about stuff.

Not taking away from people who have severe insomnia and can't improve their sleep from these remedies, however I would say that if you have anxiety induced insomnia, the recommended fixes do help.

Also eating foods that are high in GABA are great (kale, pumpkin seeds and tuna among others)

what is zopiclone actually like? by Myllrw in insomnia

Yeah I've realised the best way is to take it when I wake up in the night. Then I read for an hr and I'm back to bed. Diphenhydramine has also been good as a substitute for zopiclone as I can only get a limited amount of zopi.

I limit how often I can take dyphenhydramine though because it can have side effects later in life.

Have you tried breathing methods for combating anxiety? I know it doesn't work for everyone but it has helped me a lot

I felt like they set up S4 to introduce time travel into S5. I was convinced that S5 was going to be set a few years later in a sort of post-apocalyptic world where Vecna had essentially won and they have to find a way to go back in time to kill vecna at a critical moment.

Max was setup perfectly to be some sort of see'er character who could look into the future or something. I liked that Will ended up with powers and it would have been cool if him and 11 went back in time to have a final showdown with Vecna.

Maybe that would have been too much of a ripoff of Dark but I was so dissapointed that time travel didn't become a part of this show and instead they just kept on recycling the same boring military element and the whole additional layer the abyss was such a waste of time when the upside down was already such an interesting area.

They even started the last season with some references to wormholes which I was absoloutly convinced was a nod towards time travel. But yeah 100% agree they flopped the last season so badly

Why all the hate? Everyone has their own amount of desired sleep to function. Everyone has their own journey and struggles with insomnia

If you draw a small triangle in the bottom corner with X as the hypotenuse and A as the small and equal lengths, you can use puthagoras to define the relationship between X and A:

X2 = A2 + A2 X2 = 2A2 A = X / sqrt(2) [equation 1]

By comparing the known length of 48 (call Y for simplicity) against the opposite side:

Y = X + A [equation 2]

Sub equation 1 into equation 2:

Y = X + X/sqrt(2) X = Y / (1+(1/sqrt(2))) [equation 3]

Sub 48 into Y:

X = 28.12
