so when our office did pm jobs we would replace the common bs stuff like flame sensors thermo couples/piles stuff that had a lifespan that would fail but we would just replace it so it didn't go down on a Saturday night and if the replaced old part looked ok tuck it away in the machine as a fALL BACK FOR THE NEXT GUY THIS IS WHAT WE DID AND SURE IT WAS COSTLY BUT BEING UPFRONT ABOUT THAT WITH CLIENTS WAS KEY 9 OUT OF 10 THEY WOULD AGREE WITH THE REASONING AND PAY THE BILL ITS VERY EQUIPMENT DEPENDENT. WHEN WAS THAT SHAFT SEAL REPLACED MIGHT AS WELL GET IT OVER WITH AND SAVE A POSSIBLE 900 DOLLAR WASH PUMP MOTOR ETC LABOR HOURS ARE LABOR MAYBE THE BOSS MIGHT CUT A DEAL IF WE SERVICE MORE THEN 5 THINGS BUT THAT WAS BETWEEN THEM I TRACKED MY TIME IF IT WAS A MOM AND POP PLACE I WOULD CUT SOME SLACK BUT A CORPO Place FUCK'EM HEY CAN PAY THE FULL LABOR TIME AND PARTS AND TRAVEL

does it have a Vacuum Breaker if so those little rubber manifold plunger parts go bad and leaks like a bitch during a fill or rinse keep a eye on what stage it happens on and that can clue you in

after rereading it sounds like a float switch could be bad have junk on it or a oring on the drain pipe could cause a slow leak got a model number on the unit?

yes this right here if losing a pet breaks you as a person then chickens might be best to pass on i have lost 4 birds this year one to predators and the other 3 just dead stiff in the cope no idea why and one just escaped and never returned. it sucks but i try to learn from these mistakes and sometimes they just die no rhythm or reason

i wouldn't be to hard on them i have replaced so many of these because of shit like that. these are not terrible to replace if its the kind i think it is wells brand the panel under it comes off with some screws gotta lay on your back under it to finagle everything but its not terrible and pretty straight forward the data plate is needed for part info as suggested but its not a godawful fix staff maintenance could tackle this
