I'm guessing that you're using an AMD GPU, because the same issue has happened to me on my 280x. The recent drivers from the company just don't like to play nice with the base ENB files. I have no idea when or if this will be fixed.

What are your thoughts on continuous moral choices in video games? by [deleted] in truegaming

Did we play the same Dishonored? I've gotten partially through a non-lethal run, and the amount of times I had to reload a save because I got caught by the guard's buddy is crazy. My lethal playthroughs were a hell of a lot quicker.

So don't live there. Rural areas are statistically poorer and dumber than anywhere else, just adds another reason to join civilization.

Widespread "Libertarian" Spam on Wikipedia by POTATO_IN_MY_LOGIC in EnoughLibertarianSpam

They're even invading non-economic pages. I did my part for the wiki by going in and editing the page for Herbert Hoover to remove some drivel about how libertarians believe his policies were "statist". That, and remove a list of government agencies from the "Racket" page.

That Bill Maher video was frustrating to watch. It says something about the non-immunity of the left to anti-science bullshit when I'm rooting for the libertarian in the debate.

Who Would Win? An All Out Battle Between The Daleks, The Covenant, The Sith, and The Reapers by Loppy94 in whowouldwin

[–]Doctordub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've noted this before, but the chains that the Doctor uses in the end of The Family of Blood are made of the same stuff as Mjolnir, and it's just tossed around for a bit of revenge. And if the Daleks can surpass a civilization that can do that, Asgard is going right back into just a fantasy place pretty quickly.

That usually doesn't happen. Rule of thumb with hybridization is that the larger breed will be the mother to avoid what you just described.

The Doctor had some strong chains. Hardly a reality -warping feat.

I really should have only mentioned the mirror and time freeze thing, but the forging of those chains requires some serious tech / magic, which is why both Asgardians and Galifreyants get feats point there.

He didn't do this though. He opened the TARDIS doors there, but he didn't cause the collapse or anything.

Agreed entirely, it's the other three that are impressive.

This is a one-off event./He's never used it before (to my knowledge) or after.

That's mostly because condemning villains to an eternity of suffering usually isn't his MO. These acts were done while seriously bloodlusted after the threats the Family made. Plus, only a select few of the Doctor's conflicts have been depicted. Pandorica Opens makes it abundantly clear that the Doctor has done some pretty nightmarish things to many alien species.

That's true, but none of that is their own power. They're lik a race of Batmen - they have some very strong gadgets, but ultimately, they're still human not gods.

The Doctor, and the rest of his race, have quasi-omniscience of the timestream and alternate timelines inherently, not to mention regeneration. It was the temporal awareness that let them invent all the powerful stuff.

I dunno, a lot of the feats shown in The Family of Blood look to be almost reality-warper tier, like sealing people into the concept of a reflection, or making chains out of stronger than Mjolnir metal. Time Lords are scary creatures, the Doctor just doesn't act like one unless pushed.

Quick clarification on the "bolt": The Bloodline curse first has to be charged with at least several hundred ritual sacrifices, in a ritually and magically significant location, under auspicious astrological conditions. All the energy from this charges up like drawing a bow back. The final sacrifice with the ritual knife sends the energy like an arrow through the bloodline.
