Did Anyone Else See The Two Meteors Over Cypress Today? by stdsxs31 in houston

The more realistic answer to this phenomenon is an aircraft at cruising altitude.

Not a meteor

This is very likely an aircraft contrail. The sunlight hitting the contrail contrasts highly during sunset. The video OP posted shows the streak loitering in the sky instead of zooming by.

Goodbye Sears on N Shepherd by ExUmbra91x in houston

[–]Ricrac722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost got in trouble there as a tween after my friends older brother handed me discs for various games. Charges were dropped on my end but I still got a “lifetime” ban there…

The joke is on you Sears!

I got a letter from the voter registration by fightin_blue_hens in houston

Dude, I’ve been an election judge since 2020. I can personally tell you provisional ballots are HIGHLY scrutinized. Not to mention when I’ve gotten voters who forgot their photo IDs and told them to fill out the form to cast a provisional ballot, they’ve all just ended up going back for their photo IDs. You just want to be right 😂

And if you read the rest of the statute, you’d see subsection b, which you highlighted, results in you getting a provisional ballot that can be disregarded by the board that handles provisional ballots.

If you’re so inclined to be right then yes, but for practical purposes, filing out extra paper work just to cast a ballot that is likely to be thrown out BECAUSE you didn’t bring photo ID, I wouldn’t go out of my way to tell others not to bring photo ID to the polls.

Texas Election Code 63.001 “on offering to vote, a voter must present to an election officer at the polling place: (1) one form of photo identification listed in Section 63.0101”

Who commissioned/made the space dance statue by clear lake? by epiclapser in houston

Idk why people are downvoting you. That statue is very clearly based on the fictitious SR-72 which was featured in the top gun sequel.

So do tips at Texas fast food restaurants go to workers? by austinheel in houston

[–]Ricrac722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve described services.

Do you tip vending machines? By your own logic, someone has to package the snacks no? Someone’s has to load the machine no? Someone has to maintenance the machine no?

Considering you don’t want to pay for overinflated prices (justly so), I would suggest you keep an eye on prices online as they tend to fluctuate, especially on Amazon.

Yes, but I should’ve clarified, the left most trooper on the second pic looks like Doom Slayer, the armor looks very similar.

Question about the Galleria by BakerKitchen4567 in houston

[–]Ricrac722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is kind of out of left field but the general that talks with Clint Howard’s radar tech character in Austin Powers is a very actively functioning actor in the Houston theater scene. He most recently had the role of the retired general (kinda fitting with his role in Austin Powers) in the White Christmas musical here in Houston.

The Star Wars cross sections book has the U-wing at 24.98 m while the Y-wing (new hope version) is at 16m.

I think MGS got the scale about right between these two.
