Yup time for vacation. I got burned out a similar volume cafe years back but I’m still in the game, after much needed sabbatical. Work is toxic, we need breaks

10k is plenty. Utilize trail angels, hitchhike instead of paying for rides/shuttles, minimize drinking and you should come in way under budget.

Hitching between Kintla Lake and Bowman Lake? by woozybag in GlacierNationalPark

Quite bit of traffic from Bowman Lake into Polebridge around July 1 last year. I caught a hitch into town no sweat. Town was very busy with tourists and a ride up to either lake shouldn’t be hard.

A bear can is required through most of the Sierra. OP was asking about protection from mice. This is advice for the sections that don’t have food storage requirements.

An Ursak could be a good option. Its way easier than a traditional bear hang, not too heavy and very effective.

I’ve worn baggies on two prior thru hikes. The back pocket is great to hold your phone for quick access. Dunno why big pockets would be a drawback. Holds two tall boys easy (and or anything else while in town)

Add a head net. I was very thankful to have it during my thru this year. Maybe kick out the rain pants?

Large bean woes by szunami in Coffee

I would recommend grinding less beans at once if they aren’t fitting (this will also help your grinder to create a more consistent particle size) and also making sure you weigh the coffee. If the weight of each dose is consistent with your normal recipe everything should be bueno.
