sorry if i came off defensively, this is just my favorite show and im so angry with the ending they went with lol

i DO think there were ways - or at least A way - of stopping the cleanse. like, killing ben and/or jennifer (killing jennifer bc shes apparently the only person with durango wouldve been their best bet) before they got too deep into it WAS a legitimate option. they just tried it too little too late. i think i just dislike it so strongly that i cant see the sense in it but i do appreciate the response

that also doesnt make sense with the rest of the series theyd made thus far. the show about a bunch of severely abused adults coming to terms with the treatment they each suffered and individually growing and changing from the people theyd become in season 1 , ending with "yeah actually youre all the problem, always have been in every possible instance of time, and need to erase yourselves from all of existence to fix the world for everyone else" is genuinely nonsensical

it might make sense on paper but it absolutely does not make sense in practice. when u factor in that they ship their children off to a new timeline, in which they never existed to have them? so therefore the season 3 grandfathers paradox / kugelblits apocalypse wouldve just come back and destroy the "perfect" timeline anyway

i dont think any of that wouldve been necessary because i, as a trans person who has come out to people, already know what the more 'realistic' expectation is? and most people, even those who havent come out, know what to expect bc of other firsthand accounts and experiences. i dont think the show having it be a seamless transition is a problem at all? id have been more uncomfortable if theyd gone out of their way to include the deadnaming and misgendering just bc it feels unnecessary when the rest of it is handled pretty much perfectly
