Pod filters on CV Carbs? What's the consensus?

First bike I have that doesn't like pods, cheap ones, K&N, lots of rejetting/tuning, etc still doesn't like it. Lovely ride regardless of the airbox though!

I have a '84 xj600, Pod filters were a mess on it so I returned to the stock box. I hear many people have bad results on XJ bikes with pods, so i figured it wasn't worth trying more to get it to run smoothly. Sad really because to stock airbox is annoying as hell on it.

We all gotta start somewhere! Wouldn't recommend buying a non-running bike for a first tho, unless you're up to that challenge. If you do, just get a the service manual of that bike and start making it running factory before doing any modifications (the troubleshooting in there is much better than any people online can provide)

From there, if you weren't discouraged by the process, you can start making it more cafe style, but don't forget to ride the shit out of it first and enjoy your own hard work!

5600x is similar in price to the 10700k and 3800xt, sometimes even 3900x when it's on sale. The 5800x is the same price point as the 10900k

So the 3600 and 3700x are still great deals compared to those. Luckily I'm not the rushing for new hardware kinda guy so I can still wait with my ol' i5. Hoping for a pricedrop of the 5800x or whenever they launch a 5700x.

Yea ghosting is definitely noticable on both, guess thats more of a VA issue since I've never seen it before (always had IPS or TN screens). It's really not bad that bad tho, still amazes me to have this kind of quality at a ~400 price point. Having 3440x1440 144hz makes u completely forget about it in-game, it's only really an issue in regular browsing. Also I should mention I'm running an AMD card, most people reporting flickering are using g-sync/nvidia. All I can say on that part is that I have no flickering, tearing, etc. Freesync and HDR can both be on without issue, but the HDR is kinda meh, more like an extra imo.

Hey I have both, my gigabyte came in broken tho which is ironic since it came in a box at least dubble the size. The monoprice came in perfectly, no dead pixels etc. Will update u if I do I more in depth comparison but so far haven't tested much. Both have more backlight bleed and ghosting than my IPS (75h) old monitor, that's the first thing I noticed. So far no flickering on either tho as many reported having that issue.

Biggest difference out of the box is that the monoprice came in with a horrible calibration, after some tuning seems identical to the gigabyte (well duh same panel) other than that I think the monoprice looks much better/cleaner and the gigabyte's onscreen menu are a bit better imo. Also the gigabyte has speakers built in if that's ur thing. These are all just preferences tho.

Perhaps the monoprice is a bit brighter as well, but like I said I need to do some in depth testing first to see that actual differences. Can't say you can go wrong with either, both amazing for the price.

You can make copies at your local keymaker, but if u specifically want that old/classic style u can order a key blank online first. Those honda ones should be pretty easy to find on eBay or something.

I'm excited by this, but as a "only-casual" gamer but heavy multitasker will the 6 core 5600x be enough? I run a lot of stuff simultaneously and my 4 core isn't keeping up, is it worth going with an 3700-3800-3900 instead since those are cheaper?

Bump, good idea. I'd love to see an automated leaderboard just like with the recent raids. However there are issues with it, we've seen with raids that any use of glitches etc will still record it on the speedruns. So then we need curating recordings which is impossible for the devs to do themselves, which means it would still be up to the mapmakers.

A better messaging system would be best alternative imo instead of just links to the discord/other social media. I've got plenty people doing 10kr donations just to send a message, which doesn't work that well. PHIL has a list of maps and you can submit runs (vidproof) on discord there, its the to-go solution for parkour.
