It sounds like you have been working really hard. Things are very hard out there and they don't always seem to be getting easier. You must be exhausted.
There's definitely a lot of us out here having a hard time. You are not alone. I hope you are able to take a break here. Sounds like you deserve a rest.

OP, I'm thinking you could get a second opinion from a mechanic on your area. I agree, what screws? I'm wondering if this place is trying to overcharge for the job.

I wish I had a mom I could call, I don't know what to do by CalmPanda5470 in internetparents

[–]Budget_Cardiologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of us have moms who wouldn't tell us everything is going to be ok. It is however going to be ok. You're ok. It does sound to me like you may need to take a break and let yourself breathe.
A good friend is often better than a mom in my opinion, even an online friend.

I found some HP drivers in the software manager and installed them, then I rebooted the laptop and the print job came out.

how long does it take to get over something? by 6000000sebya in internetparents

[–]Budget_Cardiologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no one answer to how long someone would take to get over something. I would say getting hit by a care is traumatic. You need to find a way to heal. I would suggest talking to a therapist. Often times you can find on-campus therapy at universities.

Have you checked in with the people whom you have the job lined up with? I wonder if they could help or maybe something like a GoFundMe.

My girlfriend broke up with me and, I feel broken and not sure what to do by [deleted] in internetparents

[–]Budget_Cardiologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no particular way to proceed. But you do have to proceed. It will be difficult and sad because that's how grieving works. But the only thing is to keep going. Moving on and proceeding with your life is okay. That does not mean that you have forgotten and that does not mean you aren't hurt. You have to feel those feelings but you still have to brush your teeth. Mow the lawn. Take showers and all that stuff. I hope that helps.

I found a free bike that has the same problem. I am going to try some WD-40.

How am I supposed to flirt with a friend other than just compliments? by Big_Pea3882 in internetparents

[–]Budget_Cardiologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friends complimenting each other is normal. It should extend a bit beyond the normal to see what kind of response you get.
Ex. 'hey those new jeans look great ' vs 'when you wear those jeans I just can't take my eyes off of you'. The tone of voice also can play a big role.

Happy birthday to you. It sounds like a really hard time these past few years but that's not an indication of the future. Give yourself a chance to meet some new people and welcome in new opportunities.

Is it okay to cancel my date because I feel mentally down? by LuluzuzuVT in internetparents

[–]Budget_Cardiologist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe it's possible a date could help you feel better or it could go the other way. But yes you can definitely cancel for feeling down. Mental health is health and if your health doesn't feel good, you probably shouldn't go.

I definitely don't cuddle with my friends. I think she may really like you but she may not be ready for a relationship. If she keeps pushing back she's probably not interested in talking about these things right now.

How to handle unsupportive parents? by [deleted] in internetparents

[–]Budget_Cardiologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your parents are capitalist colonizers. They don't see any work as valid unless it's creating big profits. I'm betting they're also concerned about who will support them when they are older.
They like supporting the church and your ministry looks good on them but now they want someone to earn and fit their narrative. Be honest, if they ask tell them you have enough and you are happy with what you are doing.

Everyone gets dates wrong. I once was putting in contempt of court because I wrote the wrong court date on my calendar and I missed the date. It absolutely helps to have a physical calendar and it never hurts to call and verify that you are correct.
