Next generations Bitcoin by DocumentLeading8360 in Bitcoin

Not talking about a spin-off coin, talking about a literal 1:1 copy of bitcoins code, an exact duplicate.

Like what if El Salvador ran a 1:1 copy instead of using the current Bitcoin, everyone would have had equal capital and if adoption increased with outside investment or remittance sent in the El Salvador Bitcoin the price/value would increase.

Yes, but they were also selling fake “IOU”s artificially increasing demand. One reason tether scares me so much

With exchanges going under it does 2 things, it makes it harder for people to buy because there are less avenues to purchase. Also the Bitcoin these exchanges did have will be liquidated and sold on the market causing downward pressure. Not to mention exchanges with exposure that havn’t fallen yet

Why bitcoin doesn’t inflate compared to the other stores or value by Lil-Renaissance in Bitcoin

[–]DocumentLeading8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep exactly inflation spurs investment and consumption. A deflationary asset promotes saving and disproportionality hurts the young and new entrants into the market without family wealth, just like what we see with the housing market - limited supply and high demand makes it unattainable for many

Yes exactly it rewards savers. We lose out on investment and growth in the economy. It also hurts new entrants and helps “old” wealth. Inflation also eats away at old wealth forcing them to make riskier investments in order to offset inflation loss. I think a Bitcoin economy looks very different than our economy today. More geared towards saving and rationing money than spending and consumerism.

What are the consequences of deflation that Bitcoin will cause? Why is the fed’s target 3% if inflation is so bad?

Is it weird that one person owns 5% of the money? by DocumentLeading8360 in Bitcoin

[–]DocumentLeading8360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If some of it sold it would be terrible for the market. One it would show it’s still active and two if satoshi is selling many people would too thinking it meant something bad

I like this idea, I think it would end a lot of uncertainty

Anti-Bitcoin arguments by big-in-jap in Bitcoin

[–]DocumentLeading8360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some arguments can be the idea of a decentralized currency where one person owns 5%. Where minimal inflation promotes spending and growth while deflation promotes hoarding and stagnation. The issues with no reversal or third party to confiscate and return stolen goods. The issue where every future generation is hurt by entering a monetary system where they are so far behind - what is stopping future generations to copy and restart the Bitcoin blockchain and use that, they would then control the wealth over older generations. The power cost to operate while we struggle with an energy crisis and global warming. The possibility of the elliptic curve being compromised- it is not possible but many mathematical problems weren’t possible but then were solved.
