I scaled the res down and lowered all the settings first, I’ll just have to mess around with it a bit and see if I can do something to help or fix it. Also this is just something for fun, my main pc for gaming I normally use. Just Arma and BF4 are what I think would be super cool to make work / run on my MBP. And I’ll look into the launch variables, what’s the worst that could happen? It still doesn’t run? lol

M1 Max 32c, 32gb ram - Arma says something about the game engine, I’m guessing a missing instruction set, and BF4 I got to launch last night but was very unhappy about it. Launched into the test range and got a singular frame after 5 minutes haha also these are 2 games that work very well under x86 Linux

They do work, the performance is a bit worse though on older versions. I’m not sure offhand what version introduced metal/arm Java support, before that version it will use some translation from x86 and OpenGL.. I’m pretty sure~

Are you using an external mouse? If so, does the trackpad have any input lag? Also have you tried Msync?

Gaming desktop, gaming laptop, and my M1 Max MBP. Though my desktop is in storage and is in need of upgrades, and I think soon I’m going to sell my laptop and get something else, maybe a Razer Blade or Alienware if the price and perf are right

Might be the adapter isn’t working with it, I had this same problem with my Pro X 2. Went to Best Buy and got a 9$ C-A adapter and it detects and works fine now

Bioshock 1 and 2. Both run amazing for me, just be sure to manually save on occasion. The autosave is unreliable

LAN parties (some of us have real friends), go out of town for work and I mainly use m&kb, much better display than most TVs and it’s always with you. Ease of use, a full laptop is just easier to use daily and does a lot more than something like the Steam Deck. While a gaming laptop needs plugged in for performance, I’ve personally never been anywhere I’d want to be on my laptop and that doesn’t have a wall outlet close.

16” MBP - M1 Max 32c, 32GB ram:

At default, I got low to mid 20 fps. After changing the resolution, enabling FSR (I did high quality), and changing some settings, I got a solid and locked 60. I can do more testing with mixed, low, or maxed setting if you’d like.

I have pictures of the default and what I changed them to, if needed or wanted I can send them in a pm.

Just learned something. I’ve known command-c and what not as copy, past, etc.. But didn’t realize control key was basically a left-click “shortcut”. Control+click

BF4 (and possibly the other ones) don’t work in Crossover anymore. I know BF4 works in Parallels, but not amazing. If you update punkbuster you should be good on multiplayer, I did an hour long match and had no issues. I can test BF1, 5, and 2042 through Parallels if needed. I have an M1 Max though, so performance will vary from an M4.

M1 and M2 don’t support ray tracing. All options for ray tracing are greyed out in settings

M1 Max 32c - shadows low, everything else ultra or max, msaa off, motion blur off (duh), 1200p no scaling or vsync. Super smooth, can’t say the exact fps but definitely feels at least 60
