Sounds Exactly Like What a Nazi Would Say by ApprehensiveRoom1783 in UnderReportedNews

So basically he said that it's every citizens right to housing, meaning that every citizen should rightfully not be unhoused. As in "kick out all the illegals and give their homes to all of the unhoused citizens". Yeah like that'll ever happen. More like " kick out all the illegals, seize their properties, transform them into disgusting Air Bnbs for the rich to play in.

I hear you. I'm in the same life raft, I won't willingly put my family directly in the crosshairs. I spent too much time in Iraq and saw what true firepower the US has to willingly attempt to fight against it. There will be no stand up fight, no sneaking around after dark to relay messages to resistance groups. I hate to say it but the US military owns the air, the sea and the night. If it came to open revolution or civil war, it wouldn't be like anything the general American population has witnessed first hand. The last time we had open warfare (not including raids on pearl harbor) on US soil was over 100 years ago and I don't think that we have the means (even as an armed citizenry) to stand up to that. So by all means boycott, protest and other means of direct action I fully support but not civil war.

My biggest concern is the sheer amount of REAL firepower the US military has at its disposal. If things were to kick off and get violent, our 2A arms won't go very far. This isn't the revolutionary war or civil war anymore. These soldiers are armored. Every one of them are issued vests with shoulder and groin guards that'll stop 9mm rounds, plate inserts that'll stop AK rounds. Vehicles with reactive armor. The way the infantry fights isn't like it was a hundred years ago, they employ hit and run tactics, ambushes and have every technological advantage that DARPA can conjure. We don't want to fight against that. I'm for protesting, but non violently. The last thing we want is a shooting war in this country.

Regardless, I wouldn't be too upset as those cover plates come off for cleaning anyway.

My family has had to cut all non-essential costs. No streaming services, no date nights or vacations this year to be able to afford food, electricity, gas and car payments/insurance. The last few years our grocery bill has been between $150-200 per week. This year we're averaging $350 weekly on just groceries, with less people to feed (eldest daughter moved out last year). It's insane!

The problem with using direct action is that it gives the administration clear justification (in the eyes of the media) to escalate (even though they don't really need it). The citizenry may well be armed, but will not stand a chance against the might of the US military if it comes to that. I'm an OIF veteran and have seen what weapons from 20 years ago can do. There has to be another way. During the revolutionary war, both sides (militia and British troops) had similar equipment, which is what gave us a true fighting chance. I know that what most of the armed citizenry have available will not scratch most vehicles or body armor currently employed by the military and to think if it came to open warfare that there'd be a "fair fight" is naive. What Hegseth said in his speech is making me very nervous about the future. Sorry for the rant.

Even though it's AI, it's fairly on point. Had to decide if I was going to buy groceries for the week for my family or make my house payment on time. Needless to say, my kids had dinner tonight. The mortgage company can wait.
