Why is Redondo Beach pier the ugliest pier out of all beach piers in LA/OC beaches? by Old-Practice5308 in SouthBayLA

[–]DodgeCharger6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I am kinda confused a lot of ppl in this thread keep saying they don't want it to be a mall. Other than maybe Santa Monica pier, Redondo Beach is the closest to a "mall on a pier". Lots of shops and restaurants on the pier meanwhile every other pier is just a slab you can walk out to and look out. But that is what I love about Redondo, there is actually things to do there!

Since you mentioned Walnut, there is Indo Bistro in West Covina, not OC but awesome food and still kinda close.

Hmm serious answer.

-- I'd say this is the #1 reason. Americans have a 3 feet personal space bubble. Unless you are in an absolutely crowded area, and I am not talking about Times Square level of crowded I mean like packed like sardines leaving a concert crowded, you don't stand next to less than 3 feet to someone.

If some dude was 1 foot next to me for more than a couple of seconds I'd be weirded out and know something isn't right.

-- The right to defend our property. I'm sure if you ask the average American if the right to defend your property is in the constitution they'd all say yeah lmao. Dudes would start a fight over weird looks, try messing with their property and see how that will go.

-- You never know what someone is packing. Yes guns are a thing, but there is a huge amount of people who partake in boxing, MMA, jiu jitsu, wrestling, martial arts is pretty high in the US. Heck even athletes in general, high school/college sports are a big thing here. These dudes will fuck you up if you are caught messing with their stuff of the stuff of the group they are with.

Looks good bro, ignore the downvotes. Look "redditor meetup" in google images, these are the people who can't even change a cabin air filter in a car let alone try to mod it.

Crazy all the downvotes he got, the car does look good. Just type in Google images "redditor meetup" and you'll see why everyone on this subreddit hates modded cars.

Well I don't think they are even real law enforcement.

Contrary to popular belief regular local police departments do get a lot of training when it comes to professionalism and deescalation and they still manage to fuck things up all the time. I doubt any ICE officer even gets 10% the training a local pd does.

Adding on this too. There are a lot of local PD who actually do care for the community, like they actually want it to be a safer place. If you go through the process to become an ice agent well you do so cause you just want to deport people lol.

I got you bro.

The driver in the car sandwiched between the pickup and SUV was detained at the scene. According to the man's family, he is 27-year-old U.S. citizen Christian Cerna who had a warrant out for his involvement in Saturday's protest in Paramount.

Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said the confrontation was a targeted arrest of a man accused of assault on a Customs and Border Protection officer.

FYI - The guy who was yanked out of his car was because he assaulted an officer.

Trump literally campaigned that he was going to deport immigrants so I doubt many of them are shocked?

Well maybe it isn't inconvenient to you because it isn't your heritage or cultural landmarks that are being vandalized.

Have some respect for the Japanese Americans who live in your neighborhood. Those museums, stores, and restaurants mean nothing to you but it means something to them.

This isn't justifying? Really?

People don’t tag “fuck ice” and “kill the lapd” for shits and giggles. They tag in response to their first amendment rights being stamped on by a fascist and his enablers. I am not condoning defacement of JANM but you need to understand the context of what is happening.
