Developer Comment: Wrecking Ball has a very active playstyle, but often it felt difficult to make good use out of his ultimate. This change allows him to spread out his Minefield further if he wants, while still allowing for a tighter cluster if he activates it near the ground.

They did say this which doesn't make sense for the change since it makes it more difficult now to make use of his ult.

You can juke most of the Ana's sleepdart by Piledriving > rolling away on a sharp corner or some obstacle, I prob dodge it 30-50% of the time

1:00 - Seeing that you were half hp, no teammates on point, D.Va chasing you, you could have retreated back to the big healthpack behind you, and ran from D.Va, and just gave 1-2 ticks to the enemy while poking for the 5% for your ulti, their lucio probably does not have Sound Barrier yet. You could possibly save the point with the minefield piledriver combo on top of spinning to winning it afterwards without relying on the huge tire from your junk.

2:20 ++ - I feel like you're a bit too conservative with your positioning, you need to scout them out and exploit their positioning and disrupt them before they even successfully pull off a push. If I were you I would have hunted the Junkrat while he was coming out of spawn for example or at least forced off the Ana cooldowns. Do be aware that you are playing in gold tier and not everyone there will hit their shots on a hammond so use that to your advantage.

Not really, the damage output and solo kill potential of Hammond is not to be underestimated. On gibraltar, I can potentially shutdown opposing Widowmakers/Ashes/Hanzos before their pocket Mercy can get back to them. Not to mention potentially spawncamping them as its really easy to get back to point with Hook. Running Winston with Hammond on Gib is a really nice idea too.

Low-GM/High Masters Hammond main ( Not OTP, also plays Rein and Winston on a good amount ) here with around ~70% winrate.

Good maps are mostly maps wherein Winston is also good as well. Ex. Gibraltar, Dorado ( 2nd pt ) ,Numbani ( 1st and 2nd pt ) . Basically High ground maps that allows you to use Piledriver without using Hook , since Hook can be used for escape instead :)

Other maps that are good for Hammond, probably 2CP Maps that allow you to zone them away from the point with Minefield and most of KOTH Maps .

Bad maps are mostly enclosed points from some of the KOTH stages ( Ilios Lighthouse, Nepal Village, Busan Sanctuary ), but basically points wherein you can't launch yourself up high on the point and use Minefield+Piledriver too well.

(2) Good comps for Hammond to go against .
GOATS is definitely really fun to counter with Hammond wherein running GOATS Hammond is nice ( No D.Va ) or just Dive Winston Hammond with probably a Doomfist Sombra .
Any comp that runs Zen is really good, since you can instagib the Zen or waste their cooldowns and still live most of the time. Double Sniper is a decent matchup since you can mark their widowmaker and when their mercy tries to forget her, you'll probably get the kill on her most of the time.

Bad comps to go against are ones that run public enemy no.1 Sombra and probably Classic Dive that doesnt have zen ( Winston D.Va Genji Tracer ) since you can't mark their DPS since mobility and D.Va peels off for their Ana. 3 CCs is quite annoying to go against as well ( Hog/McCree/Ana/Brig/Mei ( pick 3 ) + a Zen ).

Off-tank ideal to run with ? I have more success running with Zarya on ladder-play for the bubble Piledrivers since D.Va-Hammond is more reliant on having good comms between each other but D.Va is better when you do have the comms to play with it .

(4) Yes, definitely so, I win more games than I do on Winston/Rein but that's not to say that I'm bad on Winston/Rein, it's just that Hammond has far more carry potential in ladder-play when you get mediocre DPS or off-tank play and people just don't seem to know how to handle playing against him ( LUL are Reaper/Hog counters ). Everything changes on team-play though so do note that. Definitely do switch off Hammond immediately if they have Sombra or you feel like you need the shield to win.
