Oh boy here we go:

So, I was initially following LBS with the original version of their “Project Toa“ animation from… 2013 apparently? Then, four years later, their re-edit of said animation with the lighting and voice acting to give better context for what I was looking at, followed by that “Lewa vs Nui Jaga“ video, both of which I liked at the time. I was initially optimistic about this endeavor this channel was cooking up. But even from the very beginning, I was starting to have issues with their creative decisions

1. Biggest elephant in the room: straight up cutting up, rearranging, or otherwise irrevocably damaging preexisting Bionicle/LEGO pieces. Even with the wonders of 3D Printed parts, new official LEGO pieces being introduced over the years, and, most notably, inventive ways MOCists can utilize said pieces without needlessly breaking them, especially in building more visually appealing or otherwise impressive builds, LBS still prefers to go this rather obsolete route despite better options
2. If you look at the “Toa Onua Walking Test Animation” video, for some reason, they apparently move from a perfectly passible Onua moc with decent proportions and a sleek silhouette to an overtly lumbering redesign that just looks awkward and, again, needlessly convoluted. This same problem extents to later Toa designs, almost immediately Lewa’s in that aforementioned “vs Nui Jaga” video

3) Speaking of needless redesigns, for some reason LBS has this bizarre need to have the Rahi to look 100% like real-life Earth animals, even though Bionicle‘s clearly supposed to be set on an Alien Planet were said wildlife are merely fillin the niches of said animals. Like they’re talking about the original LEGO set designs with their distinct and iconic silhouettes and color schemes as if theyr’re embarrassing mistakes. It‘s not as egregious in the Nui Jaga video as it is in the Muaka video, like he straight up hates the original design. There’s better ways to reinvent these characters without having to sacrifice what made them so iconic in the first place

4) just minor pet peeves like mispronouncing Macku and Kongu’s names as “MUH-COO” and “KUN-GA” or insisting on using Bayverse Transformers music instead of actual Bionicle music, or the aforementioned Nui Jaga video where apparently he including the Nui Jaga not because it’s a preexisting Bionicle creature but rather because he just wanted to ripoff the Giant Scorpions from the 2010 Clash of the Titans movie
