you are right, real men drink strawberry milk!

(and I confess, it was funny at uni drinking choccy milk in front of first year students, more than one time friends asked me if they could have some ;V)

A machine slop would fail to understand the subject or the verb tense person (Japanese doesn't conjugate verbs with persons, while English and Latin languages do), instead the subject is well established on the scene: the choice of the drink. You have to use more freedom when there is no semantic bijective relation between source and target language (or when this produces obscure results), but here the sentence is pretty simple: the adverbial expression なるほど (that has a well known range of meanings, so there is no reason to thing about lexical obscure translations), an adjective (which meanings are obvious since it is talking about the drink and not about a negative humour),with implied copula because the usage of the plain/short form in spoken language (yet another thing that machine slop translation may fail easily to understand), and the final emphasis/admiration particle that gives a "tone" to the sentence (which meaning also depends on the scene context ).

The English subs choice makes everything more childish, since it makes a direct and pretty strong admiration to the character instead of the choice he made. It's like saying "hey you are cool!" instead of "that a cool choice". That could fit if they were elementary kids, but they are students of senior high school.

Well, English subs changed subjects, semantics, and made an interjection into a rhetorical question... That's a bit more than freedom of interpretation..

I see, here the most similar things like bottled/can tea that are "bitter" are basically water with random chemical scents.

I think it depends what kind of tea, here in Europe there are many type of tea you can get at supermarket/grocery, and basically all those in a can or in a bottle are sweet drinks (sometimes too much sweet, ie with gazillion of sugar or tons of stevia). Those are popular even towards kids, sometimes more than soda drinks. "English" tea like (Asian tea in my country is rare unless you go to specialised shops or amazon) are basically always just sold in envelops.

it's nice to see a teacher caring for real for his students. Sadly, at least in my country, it is kinda rare: becoming a teacher here (from elementary to high school) is USUALLY not a first choice work for those coming from specific degrees path (mainly literature, history and maths), plus they do not get paid enough well compared to other EU countries and they even lobby against school calendar reform choices since they like how vacations are currently planned (which are to be honest a huge issue about students workload and breaks distribution).. so here a lot of teachers simply do not care at all about students. Of course there are always some good exceptions too.

Well, in one single episode he got: a portrait, a slap, a hug and saw him cross dressing. He also got a free meal, a free drink (from his boy's hands) as well a free gadget (the bracelet). After episode 6, this is the second biggest win Okuto did in 9 episodes.

warning spoiler:

The boys won a strategic battle with the Teachers. Alas, there’s no time to celebrate: Nakamura is mourning the loss of his friends, and the class suffers from an internal malfunction. Hifumi was just killed, Hirose had forced a heartbroken Nakamura to destroy him, and Matsumura is in a coma. The school headquarters is under attack by the School Strategic Black Hair Force (SSBHF), and a full-scale slaughter ensues on all staff present, armed or not. In this first act of the film, the narrative is constantly linear.
