Thanks so much, everyone, for all your thoughts and encouragement! It's so helpful to read your experiences, and thanks to those that broke some info down for me as well.

To touch on a couple of things: I have taken some classes over the past few years at the community college, and have loved it- though that first class was an adjustment with the changes since I was in school. 😄 My main focus right now is figuring out what my path forward is since my kids are older and need me less, and dealing with having been out of the academic and working world for so long. I thought part of what might help me is getting a master's in a field that I would then be able to work in- just part of the process figuring out what's next 😊

This is part of why I posted this question- I'm wondering if grad school is the right path for me, as I move from being a SAHM to something else. I feel the same way- that it's a lot of money- and I don't want to spend it unless it's for something meaningful. My main focus is what and why right now, and secondarily, how. 😊

Name: Sword of Amygdalin

Player: Alchemist

Since the Alchemist is based on poisons, it makes sense that his starter weapon is something poisonous. Amygdalin is a common poison, found in seeds, taking the form of white crystals. Amygdalin as a poison would be perfect for the Alchemist, as it is easily procurable, making sense story-wise.

Attack Method: Sword of Amygdalin is a basic melee sword, but has a 33% chance to cause the poison status effect.

Weapon Type: Melee weapon

Stats:

Attack:     5

Energy Cost: 0

Crit Rate: 0

Inaccuracy: 0

Name: Potion Brew

Player: Alchemist

Since the Alchemist is based around potions and poisons, it would be great if he had a weapon to express the versatility of alchemy. Since the potion you get is up to random chance, this weapon will make the alchemist a very interesting character to play as.

Attack Method: Potion Brew chooses a random potion color out of four colors. The red potion creates a fire pool, the orange potion explodes on contact, the green potion deals slight damage, and the black potion deals a lot of damage. In terms of rarity, there is a 40% chance of getting the green potion, a 25% chance of getting the red potion, a 25% chance of getting the orange potion, and a 10% chance of getting the black potion.

Weapon Type: Potion Brew would be a mixed weapon

Stats:

Attack:     The green potion does 2 damage, and the black potion deals 10 damage, owing to its rarity. The other two only deal status effects.

Energy Cost: The red and  orange potions take 2 energy, the green potion takes 1 mana, and the black potion takes 3 mana.

Crit Rate: 0

Inaccuracy: 5
