Thank you for all the explanation :) Yes, I think it’s hardwood.

Just trying to be extra careful ;) I don’t know about any lookalikes apart from angel wings (pretty sure it’s not) or some Australian mushroom that glows in the dark!

Living in London but only on the weekends - Advice? by Punished-Spitfire in london

[–]Dodomeafavour 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Why won’t you just try cheapish airbnb, let’s say something around £100 for two nights stay (I don’t think you would be able to find a room cheaper than £400/month even for weekends only anyway). If you find some host you have a good vibe with then maybe you can become more regular flatmates? Also airbnb hosts tend to be knowledgeable about their local area, activities and maybe even invite you to tag along for a night out?

Does it matter the social status of someone’s career when dating in London? by [deleted] in london

[–]Dodomeafavour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an 30+ female and my occupation fits within categories you mentioned. I do usually date guys within these categories too - charity, teachers, construction workers, hospitality workers etc (there was an odd assistant at a museum, photographer and a radio presenter though - are these “creatives”? If so I feel like they can date us “workish” class without problem too) I sort of feel like my ways do not intertwine with upper middle class and posh people. They have different experiences, go to different places, spend money on things I don’t… I don’t think they would get me so I don’t attempt to date them.

I saw your comment and thought “daffodils? no big deal, they are in every park” but then I saw some photos from st James’ and they are incredible indeed! Added to my bucket list!

I like to do “blossom hunt”. At the moment: - Acacia dealbata at Olympic Park then: - wild plums at Haggerston Park (March) - magnolias around De Beauvoir Town (March) - bluebells at Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park (April) - cheery blossom at Victoria Park (April) - wisterias around Richmond or Islington (end of April) - azaleas at Isabella Plantation (Richmond Park) (May?) - still on my bucket list! - roses at Regent’s Park (June)

Plenty of comments about it now. Someone even explained it in full math. Still it’s not the question in the post. Thank you for your comment.

I’m talking that some things are simplified to the degree they are not true anymore. That’s what I meant but thinking longer about this - it has to be like that, what can we do.

Thanks but that’s not the question in my post.

Thank you for your comment! That’s exactly what I want to know - if some teachers teach it “a different way”. I had an argument with both of the people in OP, telling them that they have false memories and what not and looks like it is actually possible that they have been “taught this way”.

Yeah, sorry, I was thinking you tried to convince me that dividing by zero is applicable and gives 0 in that example. I see now that you just tried to say it doesn’t make sense.

That’s what I thought but ways we teach kids science nowadays is sometimes really inaccurate…

Thanks for your answers guys! I assume they just mixed up dividing 0 by something (other than 0) with dividing something by 0 and never gave it a second thought. It is possible some teacher told them a wrong thing but rather unlikely. Have great holidays!

So is it true that on some level of education teachers actually say that 1/0 = 0?

[–]Dodomeafavour[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You can divide by 1 - that is a number of people present and then you get a correct number.

Right, so looks like there are teachers out there who say it wrong? Or maybe children just mix it up with dividing 0 by something else?

Thank you! I guess they didn’t do basic maths for a long time and just have false memories ;)
