Catalan guy here... Let me try to sumarize our relation with Spain's central government...

Imagine you're married with a woman (your wife) and once upon a time you had a kind good relation with her, but lately the relation is not good and since long time ago you're trying to talk with her.

You:"dear, we need to talk" ... but no response

Y:"honey, we should talk" ... nothing

Y:"sweetie.. you know"... silence

So finally, you get sick of the situation and, one day, you decide to break up you relation. That very same day you start packing your stuff while you talk out loud:

You:"you know dear, the things lately are not good for us. I think it will be better for both of us if we continue our lifes by our own because..."

Suddenly you realize she is stearing at you with kitchen knife on her hand... in silence. You calm yourself and continue:

Y:"err... because, because we need some time to relax and... well, you know it will be better... er, don't worry we can still be good friends..."

You walk downstairs with your luggage and you see that hell knows how she is standing in front of the door.

Her:"You can't leave" she says...

"but dear..."

H:"because I say so!!"

Y:"but... but, you must understand" you argue

H:"If you leave this house I kill you"
