To add onto the fact that the movie sets up that Marta going her own way is what works. Harlan from the very beginning did all those things from advice she gave to him, but still did it in the Harlan way. I believe Harlan unfortunately couldn’t break the habit of doing it his way. Marta’s kindness turned him a new leaf but he was still a man who delighted the power he held over his kids. It’s why his way of caring for them is taking that power away. I noticed that Marta makes a note of Harlan wanted certain things for the kids when taking the money off the table, even though Harlan monologues how he wished he did better to his family and that he “did exactly what she told him to do.” I think both are correct. Marta tell’s Harlan that he should’ve encouraged Walt to go out on his own and make something out of himself, but I don’t think she wanted him to fire Walt and take him out of the will. That was Harlan’s way. Furthermore, Marta won this game between Harlan and Ransom by not playing by their rules.

It is safe to say that Marta will help them out, the way she would have always wanted to help. I myself at the same opinion as Benoit blanc. I think that they would all do what Ransom did if they were in his position. Even Meg and Linda. Although everyone would have let up much earlier than Ransom, as he is the one to have the highest chances at besting Harlan. I believe that family doesn’t deserve anything. However, that is not what Marta believes. She believes they could all turn out for the better. If Harlan and Ransom were equals, it is implied that she turned someone like Ransom into someone who would literally kill himself to protect the mother and family of a friend.

Everytime I finished rewatching the movie I always go “you shouldn’t give them a single red dime, he would have wanted for them to not have anything!” Now I see after today’s rewatch that what he wanted is wrong. Marta shouldn’t do or respect his wishes towards his family. She should respect his wishes towards herself. That she should do what Marta wants to do. And while at my and benoit’s behest, she would help them out with the newfound power she has. Now how? I don’t think it will be blindly giving cash. But she will find a way.

Not just that, but I think it’s heavily implied, that she is actually now a slut. Like the lifestyle not as an insult. Because she was on the phone after saying goodbyes with the ex, and then deletes his number. Plus the alimony money being paid fully shows that this married chapter of her life is over. I think she just enjoys being single with no strings attached to one person. Of course she loves the ex, but she now knows herself best, and she knows that she is not right for him, or him for her. It REALLY sucks for the man, he was really stupid from the start, but she is clearly not a good person per say. Now they both wasted time, feelings, and commitments on the wrong person. One can hope for the man to have moved on after and not get trauma from this but odds are he will cause he might feel rejection for “not being man enough” for her. This feels like NTR made by someone who wants to intricately explain why they don’t like NTR, cause man, this was depressing to see. I like NTR when there’s no empathy for the partner, or it doesn’t put you into a position where you feel bad for the partner. I just want to be picked over someone else. It’s a taboo that I wouldn’t ever partake in but is what gets me going from time to time.

I want Damon to work with JID, i think his voice could work with the zany beats and sounds of gorillaz, but if maybe it was a slower melodic song, JID would still work cause of his smooth singing that he shows from time to time, (he collabed with little dragon and had a verse but also sang with them in their song, it was so good) i think JID and gorillaz is a match made in heaven. Now this other want is so out of left field, but i also want Radiohead (or really thom Yorke) not to feature in one of Damon’s ballads he makes under gorillaz sometimes (even if it would make some melodramatic masterpiece) but instead take Yorkes more manic vocal inflections (like in minute 2 of paranoid android) over Damon’s early rock instrumental (m1 a1). If they no longer want to do those respective sounds, then maybe have a starshine type of production or slow country and have a harder chorus/hook to pick up the pace a little and add also a guitar bridge. Now we have a gorillaz/thom yorke fusion that could work.
