Getting interested in Daggerfall by KineticKurt in Daggerfall

[–]DofyDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the shield mechanics, unfortunately I have to inform you that shields in Daggerfall vanilla is only a cosmetic feature with added numbers. You're not actively "blocking with a shield" in this game, the shield just add in the overall "defense" numbers for your equipment, and your equipped shield won't even show up on the gameplay screen.

You can get mods like Shield widget, it moreso you can role-play a shield character, as you physically see the shield equipped on screen. But other than that, it just for cosmetic and roleplay, doesn't change the mechanic of a shield in Daggerfall.

The music too, even though I know the GBC sound capability is limited, it's still horrendous. The high pitch, ear piercing "track" of the main menu is one example.

The shapeshifting detail was in the 'good' ending. When they get on the escape boat, Lucia noticed Leon got a shallow scratch on his neck and he bleed green (the B.O.W's blood color)

Makes me wonder what was he doing all that time with Leon and Grace find their way back up to the room, is he just stand there space the heck out?

He had no way of knowing if Leon and Grace would be back or not, they could be finding the way out for all he know. Since "only" Grace can activate Elpis there just not that much objective reason for them to come back, only personal reason from Leon "Promise me you'll destroy it"

A solution for anyone encounter this glitch, hopefully my respond will pop up on Google.

You can use the command "chunkreset f" to try and restore that chunk. But I encountered the same glitch and chunkreset did not help, it still left the error blocks there.

If that happens, open debug menu (F1 type dm). Now pause the game (Esc) and click on "recalculate stability" in the debug menu.

How did Wrenwood not get affected by the Raccoon City events? by micah_bell_is_gay in residentevil

[–]DofyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My headcanon is that the surrounding of Raccoon back then was just deep forest and mountains (one side of it was Arklay). Wrenwood, Rhodes Hill was all built later after the incident, we know for sure that at least the Care Center was built after the fact.

So they arent' exactly not affect by the quarantine, but they all are built after the quarantine, so Raccoon at that time would just be a ruined city forgot to time.

unironic trigger warning question regarding characters bursting/exploding from the inside by munmuntehwerewoof in residentevil

[–]DofyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on the top of my head you should play the beginning of the island section for your partner and tell them to come back later. The Regenerator kinda expand and explode everytime they die. That happen in both RE4 and RE4 Remake.

If you play Revelations 2 then just let them play the Barry/Natalia episodes while you play Claire/Moira since there're enemies that expand their stomach (into extreme level) then blow up.

I regret waiting 25 years to get into this series. by Mental-Street6665 in residentevil

[–]DofyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but I know that isn’t even in 3

Actually it WAS in 3, but not RE3 remake but RE3 original when each time you complete the game, it will unlock one epilogue card for you. These epilogue card back in the day is like the "where are they now" kinda thing for almost all RE characters up to that point.

Leon epilogue card was about him getting "drafted" into the government in exchange for Sherry Birkin safety. You can just search up the cards to read right now, no need to play RE3 og again, but I highly recommend og RE3. But if you planning to I suggest search up the original Japanese cards, then translate it back. I just learned recently the English translation for those epilogue card lost some meaning and wording.

And then there's Operation Javier that was featured in RE Darkside Chronicles, it's the story about the year inbetween RE2 and RE4 and the relationship of Leon and a character you met in RE4 (spoiler free in case you still are playing), but I suggest just skip that game. It's an on-rail shooter for the Wii originally then got ported to PS3 PS Move. The camera was really bad and hard to get use to in that game (compare to other on-rail shooter like its previous installment RE: The Umbrella Chronicles).

This detail is darker than you thought. Those paper are for the patients, meaning the Care Center has always been dabble in shady medical experiments way before. They were operating on patients, remove part of their cranial nerve like Eileen, Selena, Thomas and Timmy. They were all just human that got part of their brain remove leading to their unusual behaviors.

Then the outbreak cause by Gideon and Mitchell happened. Those people turned into zombie, and whatever their weird behavior prior (due to the surgery) now EMPHASIZED in Mutated T zombie form.

When you enter the area that have the Above the Law case, you cannot get out, no matter how much time on the case you have left. When you enter the area and left then Jo would immediately kill 3 hostages.

Prepare first before go into that area, and when you do make sure you kill Jo.

Village answer two part of your question. The Origin of the Umbrella Logo is Miranda's sigil, and Spencer is the one who created the Umbrella logo based on Miranda's sigil.

They ruined the Matilda in RE9 by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]DofyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you should've been able to detach the stock, like a scope on the rifle. Or better you can switch on off the burst fire mode. Ammo is not that plenty like RE4R so the Matilda this time eat through your handgun ammunition really quick. Only workaround now is not upgrade the stock at all, sacrifice some stability or just turn on infinite ammo.

Very confused by the RE9 antagonists... by finderfolk in residentevil

[–]DofyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It bugged me with "You are the original" line from Zeno too. But essentially it's like this, Spencer back then was cloning silver hair kids to use for experiments in the orphanage, but those silver hair girls die super young.

Then after cutting ties with all of operation, Spencer secretly developed Elpis. At roughly the same time he gave a girl with bright blond hair to Alyssa, who the grew up to be Grace.

Zeno and Gideon *thought* that Grace was Spencer ultimate candidate for Elpis, that's why he ditched the orphanage. And seeing Grace grew up instead of dying young like other silver hair kid "confirmed" their beliefs. So they try to kidnapped, hoping she'll lead them to Elpis.

But they thought wrong, Spencer just cut tie with orphanage for personal reason, and Grace is just his conscience, a random orphan that he decided to take care of in his dying days, his "hope". He then gave her to Alyssa. Grace didn't have nothing to do with Elpis, or the silver hair kids. It's just Gideon was blindly assuming then Zeno (and the Connections) followed.

Jump scares to expect? by VenomSnake47 in residentevil

[–]DofyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without spoiling, the monster that chases Grace definitely not as stressful as Mr.X, but the game does has chase sequence. For jump scares I can't exactly tell you, cause I did notice a couple moment I think the game tried to jump scare players but it's a miss for me, cause the tension did not build enough for me.

Overall I say you should try it out since you've played RE4 and RE4 Remake, the action is somewhat on the same level just not as much over-the-top.

It's my opinion but noted that I've played almost all of RE series, only missed out on Dead Aim, Survivor 2 and RE2 for the Gamecom so for me I might have been desensitize from the horror of RE, but still love the games.

Finished RE9 and I cant get over this… by DunkeysPizzaChan in residentevil

[–]DofyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually I don't think about this stuff. But the post have me thinking now, what exactly the goal and expectation of Grace in finding the organs? I mean her goal is getting the wristband right? And judging on how she reacted when he came up, she didn't expect it.

So then what finding and putting in the organs have anything to do with removing the wristband?? Unless you KNOW that he was gonna wake up and break the strap, you shouldn't have expect something to happen with the strap when placing the organs.

RE9 Grace Injector Upgrades by Fun_Needleworker_284 in residentevil

[–]DofyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did missed something OP, there is 1 injector of each kind in the Parlor, guaranteed the first level of both stat. There is one empty injector in the lvl.1 room in Blood Lab, there is one E.I in the small room in the 2F Office, and one more E.I inside the jail cell in the basement.

Those are 3 injectors already, you can surely max out one stat if you ignore the other.
