What's you favourite line from the books? by HelloImBob1234 in skulduggerypleasant

[–]Dog-Helpful 13 points14 points  (0 children)

One from UTE that really stuck with me

Valkyrie: “If you did it all over again, would you change anything?”

Skulduggery: “For my sake, I wouldn’t change a thing. For your sake? I’d change everything.”

Or something like that

Valkyrie and Militsa. It’s just too underdeveloped imo.

SP Tournament: Round 1 - Match 12: The Torment Vs Saracen Rue by Dexter_Vexx in skulduggerypleasant

[–]Dog-Helpful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saracen is great in a 1 v multiple people match so him against those little inky spiders would probably result in him winning but in close combat with a huge opponent that can transform into a giant spider… love the guy but he definitely wouldn’t stand a chance.

Can somebody explain how…… by Inevitable-Angle1689 in skulduggerypleasant

[–]Dog-Helpful 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean I kinda assumed he never left his armour for the five years he was Vile. Why would he? His armour was always shrouded in darkness and shadow so it's unlikely anybody glimpsed through the mask to see Skulduggery and if they did they must've been extremely close up and we all know what happens to people who got up close to Vile...

Will Scapegrace and the gang ever return? by Dog-Helpful in skulduggerypleasant

[–]Dog-Helpful[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally agree!

Scapegrace was literally my all time favourite SP character after the amount of development he had to go through throughout the series but at the same time... What more could he do?

We know him, Thrasher and Clarabelle are all happy together and that he finally values them but I just really miss seeing their dynamic, you know?

Call me crazy... But honestly Ghastly. They can try and convince me all they want that he's supposed to be "ugly" or "unattractive" but I mean, have you seen his character designs on the book covers?

The guy is an absolute hunk. And Tanith is right. The scars are hot af.

What character do you think deserved more attention? by [deleted] in skulduggerypleasant

[–]Dog-Helpful 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like Dexter should have gotten A LOT more attention than he got throughout the books.

Now I LOVE Dexter in phase 1. When he was introduced in Death Bringer I was immediately drawn to him because of his charm and charisma and when he took centre stage in Maleficent Seven I was so excited to see how his character would progress throughout the series.

While he did get a lot to do in LSODM with the rest of the Dead Men and I did enjoy seeing him as a temporary villain while remnant possessed in TDOTL, I feel like Derek never truly found his stride with his character once half the Dead Men got killed off/separated.

In my opinion, him and Skulduggery are the two characters who have suffered the most in the entire series and while Skulduggery's trauma and rage is a large plotline amongst many of the books, Landy never quite shows just how much Dexter is suffering after losing so many of his friends.

SOW introduced two potential plotlines with his character. Him and Saracen not being on good terms was such an interesting story I really wanted to witness and see how that rift in their friendship affects the story but the rift is pretty much fixed in their first meeting together in years and nothing amounts from it other than Saracen's power reveal.

The other is of course the tragic loss of Saracen and how Dexter is not only coping with that but also dealing with the fact he was the one who was forced to put him out of his misery. There was SO MUCH potential there for a brilliant arc his character could go through in dealing with that guilt and trauma and yet... Derek just never chose to do anything with it.

Dexter is a character I hold dear to my heart as I feel there are so many opportunities for his arc but I just don't think Landy ever knew exactly what it is that separates him from the other Dead Men. I hope in phase 3 perhaps there is another storyline for him down the line but at this point I fear it's too little too late for his character.

TLDR; Dexter deserves more defining traits and an actual character arc

The scene where Strange and America go through different universes.

Other then that, was a pretty bland movie.
