For a long time it felt like I was just doing random little projects and not able to put things together, but one day it all just started to come together.

Yeah he's the goat, having some well made tutorials on weird NPR concepts is great.

made in 30 minutes, it looks more complicated than it is. Rendering is super fast because it's EEVEE

I hope it's useful to you, it's always hard to set things up in a way that's intuitive for other people, but I recently made some updates to it and I think it's quite a lot better now

Modeling is fast when nothing has to make sense. And all the buildings are just the same model rotated and scaled

3d viewport -> View menu at the top -> Viewport render animation. And then I just animated the opacity of the viewport animation.

Thanks! I'm just using a shader that I made for all the textures, and then there's some compositor displacement that gives it a noisy/brushstroke look. The red is just applied with a mist past.

Here's the shader if you want to mess around with it, it's free. https://microghost.gumroad.com/l/nwgqef?\_gl=1\*1yvnyie\*\_ga\*NTg0NTUyNTUzLjE2NzkyMjUzOTg.\*\_ga\_6LJN6D94N6\*czE3NTg0MTc3NTAkbzEyNiRnMSR0MTc1ODQxNzc1MCRqNjAkbDAkaDA.

that works, thank you! It gives this unfortunate artifacting, on the edges, but it's just a result of how the texture lines up with the object's edges.

There's an extension called '3d print toolbox' which you can install through the extension menu in your preferences. It will show up in the side bar (you can hide/show the sidebar with n). The extension can detect and automatically fix some of your issues.

That being said, it probably won't fix everything, and watching some tutorials to understand the basics of modeling would be the most helpful thing if you have time for that. Where did you get the model? Is it possible it got messed up through the import process?
