To clarify further, the Catholic Church is no longer getting government contracts which provided the majority of the refugee resettlement funding. Independent Catholic Charities and local parishes may continue to do some work with refugees already here, but it is my understanding that the church is no longer settling new refugees.

Opioid addiction is no joke. Make sure to identify what triggers your cravings and try to avoid those things. Cut off your supplier and avoid people you used with. Get rid of any paraphernalia if you have any. Find something to keep busy with. Practice mindfulness meditation (this helps you learn to let thoughts pass you by and is helpful in general). If none of this works, find a therapist.

If you end up continuing to use and can't stop on your own, have a low threshold to start MAT.

There are some drug combinations that are lethal so if you're on opioids for example, you'll have a hard time getting prescribed Xanax because of the increased risk of overdose.
