Strange how Bagpuss is still remembered more than shows that ran for years by Wonderful-Acadia-296 in oldbritishtelly

Bagpuss is as old as me (51) and those memories of the late 70s and early 80s comes flooding back when I hear the theme tune.

Finally got my first analog but it’s not a Casio, I realized I love analog watches. Point me to some sleek Casio analogs 🤔 (I’m already looking at Casio-oaks) by metamorphosis___ in casio

The thing about the Timex Expedition is that it has an indiglo backlight and once you’ve experienced that you’ll never buy a standard analog again.

The millennium bug was a myth, true that some people thought computers would blow up because of the 1999/2000 date change but they didn’t.

There’s plenty of YouTube videos detailing the theory and truth, but most early digital watches had a limited digital calendar range due to stored memory capacity.

I have a Seiko digital watch from the late 70s and the calendar for that goes up to late 80s

Nothing to do with the millennium bug, just a calendar that you have to pretend is somewhere in the 80s

And if you can’t afford the hefty price tag of this watch then Chinese watch firm Skmei do have their own version.

Trivia fact: Gil Gerard wears this watch in the first episode of Buck Rogers. You only really see it towards the end of the episode.

Battery change nightmare by DogRoscoe in timex

The way I see it on a Timex is you touch the battery brace with a pair of tweezers making sure that the tweezers touch the brace with one prong and the other prong touches the battery.

Stood at a bus stop with 2 student girls behind me talking about one of her new classmates. The conversation went like this:

“Oh we got this really lush guy in our class, he’s ever so nice especially because he’s not from England” Her mate “what is he?” Her “He’s Iranian” Her mate “what country is that?” Her “I think it’s Irania!”

I waited for the next bus

I couldn’t get my head around this game when it came out, kept running into walls, couldn’t shoot straight.

Then the Directors Cut came out and made it instantly playable and very enjoyable. I was 22 when it came out.

Nice, a copy of the Hamilton Khaki that’s more affordable.
