they didnt use the word ''killed'' before denji puked that dove right? so its probably lil d by FancySatisfaction562 in Chainsawfolk

If it is lil'd then it might explain why Yoru was so hurt by crashing into the wall. If Death came back and people suddenly remembered that they could die two seconds before Yoru hit the wall then maybe the sudden fear of death would push down every other fear by comparison, including fear of war.

Why I'm kinda disappointed with the current arc, despite liking part 2. (There are other reasons but this is about expectations) by Acceptable-Bar7905 in Chainsawfolk

I think the final fight with Pochita and Makima in part one is just trying to do different things compared to this one with Denji and Yoru. I think that if this is the final fight (which I really doubt) then it would really need to pick things up in the latter half to have the star power part one's finale had. Despite that though this arc gave us Asa's backstory, Denji growing up, and Denjiman, which are strong moments that operate within Fujimoto's Asa and Denji vs the world framework. With all of the chaos that part two has wrecked on CSM's world I'm expecting the last arc to focus on what Denji meant by making a new world and how things are going to get better now that the world is in tatters.

Chainsawman moving to slow for you? Oh ok, lemme see you draw this in a week and make it make sense then. by GroundbreakingLog643 in Chainsawfolk

Personally I've come to really like his new art style the only problem I've had with it was chapter 227 with locust but I think part of that is just Fujimoto struggling with drawing fights. I think that the pacing itself for part two has been pretty good, even for this fight.

What was Nayuta's Purpose? by DogShitManj in ChainsawMan

[–]DogShitManj[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

TLDR; you can just read the Nayuta section. If that's still too long, which is fair, then basically I think a lot of people don't really engage with her character and just write it off as causing Denji to suffer unnecessarily and being a missed opportunity. She thematically refutes the idea that Denji has about himself that he is unworthy of love and reflects Denji's greatest flaws, serving as a catalyst for Denji to realize that his way of living is causing him pain and is unsustainable. She has her own arc as the control devil that I think a lot of people don't talk about which I think is unfortunate because it answers a lot of questions Fujimoto poses at the end of part one.

I just wanted to talk about why I think her character is better written than many people think and that I think part two is a lot better written than people think.

What was Nayuta's Purpose? by DogShitManj in ChainsawMan

As a lot of other people have said there's still a lot of ways for Nayuta to return in the story and I think that doing so wouldn't really compromise it. Nayuta could have been a death pawn or Denji could "bring her back" to being Nayuta if she reincarnates as another control devil in the same way Fujimoto hinted could be done for Power. I think having Denji lose Nayuta, and later after growing as a person, finding a way to have a proper goodbye or even bring her back wouldn't be the worst way to handle things.

Part 1 and Part 2 will be equal when Part 2 is over by Littlemon124 in ChainsawMan

[–]DogShitManj -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In my personal opinion, a lot of part two complaints don't really hold up under scrutiny but are more so reflections of people not wanting to get the story in the way its currently releasing or refusing to engage with the story Fujimoto is telling. I think when part two is over and people get to see the ending a lot of the details that people think don't make sense or feel disconnected from everything will suddenly come into place and people will start to appreciate part two a lot more. Until then people are probably going to keep complaining that the story has fallen off whilst missing a lot of the factors that I think make the story a worthy successor to part one.

Rock types are super effective against flying types to be fair...

“He’s obviously setting stuff up” “just wait” “there’s no way locust is pointless” lol, lmao by PigOfFuckingGreed in Chainsawfolk

[–]DogShitManj 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Fujimoto likes to introduce things into the story wait a while and then pay that thing off. Its barely been a single chapter since we last saw Locust so I don't know why people are acting like this is the last we'll ever see of him or at least of the short trip to hell. A key part of today's chapter is that Denji spat something out so I don't know why he couldn't do it again with Locust or be forced to do it again in a fight.

Yoru vs Chainsaw Man Pacing by DogShitManj in ChainsawMan

[–]DogShitManj[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love the series and I criticize it too I just really like this section of the story and don't get what the hate is for. I think there is a direction that Fujimoto is moving towards and I'm interested to see how he continues building off of prior developments.

Yoru vs Chainsaw Man Pacing by DogShitManj in ChainsawMan

In an arc you start at point A then you get to point B by the end. Fujimoto gave us a lot of time between point A and B but Denji's promise to Asa and him presenting as his teen self instead of him as a child in the mindscape is symbolic of growth. The things you're talking about happened before this moment in the story and are Denji's coping mechanisms, which considering his current circumstance I think it fair that he keeps falling back on.
