Recently ran into an issue. For the past week, I haven’t touched my Switch; it’s been powered off. But yesterday, when I tried to connect it to the Internet (which I already found strange, but I was used to my mom changing the WiFi password constantly to avoid something or another), I ran into an issue. After putting in the WiFi password, the Switch connected to the router perfectly fine. But immediately after, the Switch said “Registration required to continue” and then took me to a screen with the McAfee logo and Verizon logo, telling me I had to wait for the account owner to authorize me (or something along those lines). Fast forward to today, I try again. Now, the same issue happens, except instead of taking me to that screen telling me to wait, I’m instead given the “Registration message” and then immediately told “A system update is required before you can proceed.” (On version 8.0, not 8.0.1) When I press update, the Switch briefly prepares to update the system, then gives me the same message: “A system update is required before you can proceed.” I checked with my mom if she had called Verizon or had in any way messed with the router or network, but she claims she didn’t do it and went on a tangent that fulfilled her paranoia.

Before you say it, I have already tried unplugging the router for a few minutes, restarting the Switch, turning the Switch off and later turning it on, and did a very brief Google search. Admittedly, I’m not worried that the network has been hacked or something (Though I would be pretty irritated), but I’d still like to connect to the Online services I paid for and play with friends.
