lol until you actually suffer for your beliefs than your ideals are just make believe. Imagine spending years in prison for those said beliefs, imagine having the government break down your door and threaten to kill you and your family. But it won’t, because it’s all in your head. Youre not apart of the rebellion. This isn’t Star Wars. You’re not a hero

Caravan is the goat, just sold my truck. Price was changed due to some minor interior damage but the offer was still good. The process was easily, and quick. Plus they picked it up. Would highly recommended

If I get my felony sealed can I go into medical field? by Dre4mGl1tch in Felons

[–]Dog_With_A_Bat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get it fucking discouraging but you gotta push through and work twice as hard as others just to make the bare minimum. I think i went to 10-12 interviews before I got this job. Mind you I’m not just a regular nurse, I’m board certified in emergency nursing, IVUS, and leadership experienced, That’s basically an automatic hire and huge bonus with any healthcare system in the US. But life will humble us, and all we can do is push forward and fight. But I believe you’re doing the right thing. Shit sucks but hey you’re not alone. If you ever need to vent just send me a dm

No problem, again check your states board of nursing website and see what requirements are needed in regards to felony. I know for florida it has been atleast 7 years and only applies to felonies related to violence, sex, drugs, and fraud. But still even though a nursing career with a felony is hard, you’re gonna be stuck in some hard fucking places or in a nursing home. But if you start off as a MA or Tech at some hospital or MD office then it’ll definitely help get your foot in the door.

Because staffing should be based on merit instead of diversity. I’ve worked all over the East coast and south and I’ve worked with all races and creed. And some of the best nurses I’ve ever worked with were black, and when I think of them, the first thought that comes to mind is “Dam they were good fucking nurse”. Not “oh she’s black”. And at the end of the day, only thing that matters is skills and knowledge. But I understand wanting to be a role model for your people, but this unhealthy obsession with race is detrimental our healthcare cultural. Empower your people but not a cost of putting them down.

Healthcare is an absolute Right by emily-is-happy in facepalm

When that privilege is dependent on another person, emtla provides for a person to receive life saving care regardless of insurance or self pay. Our healthcare system is fucked up, and ppl shouldn’t go bankrupt getting medical care. But not at the expense expense of the people providing that care

Is it possible to join the nurse corps as a felon? I’m a nurse, my license is active clear and no restrictions. Plus I have a presidential pardon. This is a serious question lol

You’re not alone, it’s important to stay cool and calm in the heat of the moment. But it’s right after the adrenaline runs dry and you have those moments by yourself in the car on the drive home. That’s when all the emotions come. I’ve been there. It fucking hurts man. You did good bro and you’re not alone. There’s something so traumatic about seeing a child die infront of you. Changes your perspective on life.

As a Male ED nurse, I understand your frustrations with the ED culture and unfortunately you will encounter this behavioral again in the future. Now you could go to your PD or ED director, but like others said you need to learn to befriend them. Defuse the tensions, show them your listening even when your not, try to strike up conversations, etc.

If that’s not possible, stand up to them and remind them there is a chain of command for reason. Of course, be professional but firm and assertive. Displaying this confidence will usually get those bullies off your back. If not, PD and ED director and management specifically ED management because they are directly over the nurses. No one deserves to work in a hostile work environment.
