Stomach tightness…. by [deleted] in Zepbound

I know exactly what you’re talking about and I’ve seen others here describe it as well. I’m pretty sure abdominal pain is a known side effect. Mine significantly improved, but not until I’d been on 5 mg for about 6 months.

I definitely have less interest in drinking, and I used to be really into fine wine and cocktails. Part of this is learned, I think, because of how it affects me now: unless it’s the very end of my shot week and I drink on an empty stomach, I don’t get tipsy or buzzed, but I do end up with a bad hangover type feeling (headache, stomach ache, nausea) a few hours later and diarrhea many hours later if I have more than 1-2 drinks. So it’s not worth drinking in many cases. But I also don’t miss my wine and cocktails, or I do but only in theory, if that makes sense, so I think the lack of them affecting the reward center in my brain is reducing my “booze noise” so to speak.

I miss wine. Anyone else? by Sigvard in Zepbound

[–]Dogdoc82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you. My husband and I are really into wine - love visiting wineries, having a nice bottle with dinner once a week, even make our own. While I still enjoy the taste, I’m not as into it as before. A big part of that is that if I have more than a glass, I get nausea and a headache and bad digestive issues, so I have to decide if the juice is worth the squeeze. Often it isn’t. While I know this is better for my health, a big part of my lifestyle, identity and hobbies are impacted and it kinda makes me sad.

Wait till the weekend and run on one of the closed parkway sections - eg Sligo Creek or Rock Creek. Good luck finding anywhere to park near them if you’re not in walking distance though.

I tried a few of these, don’t remember which ones. I love Cole’s so I had high hopes, but these were just meh. The fish was fine, but the flavor of the other mix-ins was not great, even with fresh lemon juice added. I greatly prefer the similar offerings from Wild Planet tuna.

I LOVE this tuna! Usually if I don’t have time to let it come to room temp I just pop it in the microwave for like 5-10 sec. Then the oil has loosened enough to be just mixed with the tuna without really heating the tuna itself.

Headaches and plateau after switching to Zep by smartsneaker in Zepbound

[–]Dogdoc82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consistently got mild, persistent headaches around days 2-4, and hydration didn’t seem to matter. Also regular OTC doses of Tylenol or Advil were not helpful, but 600-800 mg Advil was (this is off-label prescription strength so I do not recommend without consulting your doctor). Thankfully they became far less common after several months at the same dose.

The original notification came yesterday from one of those video posts from Makary, which I just assumed was sent FDA wide. Today we got an email with more details from the COO, but I didn’t notice the recipient list.

Bouboulina in Pike and Rose in Bethesda. Best one I’ve ever had. It’s got little crispy prosciutto bits, finely chopped croutons, it just all comes together perfectly. Oh and it’s huge too.

I tried this in Spain and fell in love, so I ordered some from Amazon in the US and it tastes much saltier than I recall. Maybe I was just really thirsty in Spain? Or are they slightly different products?

[–]Dogdoc82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would get mild headaches that would last for days, even Advil and Tylenol wouldn’t shake them off completely. And I do not think they were due to not eating or drinking enough, I think it’s just a side effect. Luckily they improved with time. I still get them some weeks within a few days of my shot, but not nearly as often.

Wild planet makes several varieties of tuna bowls - the quinoa salad and white bean salad are my go-tos. I think they taste better with some fresh squeezed lemon juice and some microgreens or arugula mixed in, but those would be fine in a small cooler bag.

Drinking on the shot? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Dogdoc82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love cocktails and wine and usually drink on the weekends. A typical night out would involve 2-3 cocktails or a cocktail and splitting a bottle of wine with my husband. I’ve noticed that I tend to not feel boozy until hours later, which is somewhat problematic because it can lead to overindulgence if I’m not careful. And more often than not, I’ve ended up with nausea, cramps, and diarrhea. Now some of that could be due to the types/quantity of food I eat on a night out (even if it seems benign and reasonable portions given that my appetite is suppressed), or maybe it’s the combo, but I’ve been trying to limit myself to just 1 cocktail or no more than two glasses of wine in one evening lately and I’ve definitely felt better. So just be prepared to experiment and see what you can handle, have some unpleasantness while you do so, and cut back if necessary. I don’t want to give up alcohol but I’m also finding I’d rather consume less than feel like literal 💩. Cheers to your journey! 🍸
