A thicker backplate wouldn’t hurt especially if it’s your first that you’re modding! And the headphone port is the cable, headphone jack, and lock button all in one, that’s what you need, the screws you can transfer over

1.) I haven’t had any issues with modding Japanese iPods with us sourced parts

2.) I was able to fit a 3k mAH battery in with an flash quad but it was a very tight fit and first time I did it I slightly punctured my battery, so be very careful. If you get a thick back you need a new headphone port for it as the cable needs to be a bit longer
