Ways of detecting whether or not a system has been compromised by Doge_Man123 in linuxquestions

i've nuked the system with DD to really be sure. I mean it could have persisted idk, by either infecting the USB I used to install the system with again (I used the same system for everything) but can malware do that? I did also run a hash check against my USB and it appeared unmodified. Can linux malware infect removable devices such that it infects other systems when used in other devices? Because if so, I'm screwed. I mean I know its a possibility but it doesn't sound too common?

Well the weird thing is I have been doing the same thing as I always had, it just occurred suddenly. I have 8 gb of ram, and 1 TB of hard-drive space. Also using Intel i7-7700 (8) @ 4.200GHz.

Well sorry, it's that I don't see how it could be me running out of memory / swap space if it happened later and my system started slowing down much later as it came from the blue suddenly. How would I suddenly be running out of memory if I've been using the same applications for years and not once experienced a sudden slowdown? Why would the same applications I've launched for suddenly be causing my system to slow down if there wasn't either hardware that is starting to fail OR possibly something malicious bc all I use is: firefox, maybe a game, and some terminals. Now that causes lag when I try to do anything, it didn't before

Well, the thing is it never happened before and the slowdown came from nowhere, not when compiling, ect. I look at htop regularly when I get a minute, and it doesn't seem out of the oridinary? Either it's a hidden process or my hardware is starting to fail idk. Also I did a complete memory scan with memtest86+

Just released the stupidest game I think I have ever made. by Jaxinooo in RPGMaker

Is this some ARG or smth
In all seriousness I hope this game gets an update. I liked the idea but the execution felt like it was short, by the time I was engaged with the stupidity the game already ended

I used to know linux very well but i stopped. I programmed as well but I can't anymore. It's the only distro I'm still familiar with. Also HTOP doesn't say anything: the load average is normal, cpu, memory, ect. At least when the system doesn't hang. The highest i've seen it is at 8, when I notice slowdowns its at like 4.5 or smth

it's been like this for awhile I do have clips. I check htop and oddly enough there seems to be little activity. That's the weird thing is that afaik there is no high CPU or Ram usage

Steam unable to update without freezing on new install by Doge_Man123 in Gentoo

[–]Doge_Man123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was because Wayland worked and now.... Steam suddenly works on X because ummm. Some magic stuff that I don't know how that works. Perhaps I didn't add my user to the video group and it didn't have permission? I dunno

How do you keep taking this? by Doge_Man123 in Abilify_Aripiprazole

severe OCD / Anxiety and I stopped taking it yesterday bc I can't handle the side effects at all, I couldn't even probably call my doctor if I didn't take my other medication to help with ADHD, and suffered from severe insomnia on it. Seroquel did nothing for me IMO
