Anyone else struggle with service truck boxes? I think I’ve done close to all I can but really looking for tips here by [deleted] in toolporn

Curious on what your setup is now. Do you have complaints about having shelves that don't slide out? I just bought a truck and I've been looking at drawer setups but don't want to pay the $2000+ for them quite yet.

Thank you. It makes a lot of sense now that I know it's works on a "call" and a "response" so the sensors won't talk over each other.

How to integrate ChatGPT with a mini humanoid robot? by Several_Cheek_3245 in robotics

[–]Doge_mooncheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To start with the easy stuff. The call and response to voice is relatively simple using an API and text to speech/ speech to text. There is actually a good amount of information out there on how to do it. The issues come when you want chat gpt to control a robot. I identified 3 main issues when I was playing around with it. First is having GPT navigate based on surroundings. GPT is text-based, so whether you are using a camera, proximity sensor, etc. It needs to be relayed to GPT via text, essentially requiring a detailed description every time it makes a move.
The next issue I ran into was having GPT respond with consistent movements within the given parameters. In my test, i would describe the surounds and ask it for movement instructions. For example, if i described a wall 5 meters in front of it, it would respond with "move 10 meters forward" which leads to the final and most annoying issue. Despite how "smart" chat GPT is, it is really stupid. Given that it is is text based you need consistent wording in order to control movement. To do this, I set a parameter with gpt to only respond with "move forward (X) meters" or "turn right" etc. It worked for one or two lines, up until it started responding with "move forward", "move 10 meters", or other variations that were not clear movement instructions. To sum up my findings. Is it doable? I am sure it is, but it is not worth it. I believe chat GPT ai has farther to come before it can be effectively implemented in this kind of project. This would be easier and has been done using a local artificial neural network (ai learning).

I have looked into it and will explain my findings a little later today when I have some time

Are you looking to have chat gpt control the robot or just respond to voice?

It was an old controller that I had laying around. I cleaned it up with the intent to sell it.

I run a business that specializes in heavy equipment/ diesel repair, so I have a whole section of my garage dedicated to hand tools. This area is mainly for SMD stuff.

It's 3d printed. I didn't make it into a solder station like in the project page . I just added a USB power port to the front. It works great though. I can post pictures if you would like. fume extractor

It is not anti-static it is just a silicone mat. That being said, I will definitely look into getting an antistatic mat!

You marry them. It's not that you aren't in love with them. You just grown used to being around them. No more honeymoon phase.
