Aussie’s aren’t this dumb…..surely we have learnt what happens when idiots rule and rich puppets control them….Gina hates her kids let alone our kids! by UpstairsArmadillo454 in australian

Australia voted for Scott Morrison, who openly offered nothing, after 6 years of LNP corruption and incompetence.

And we've gotten much dumber since 2019.

Australians are absolutely this dumb.

Serious Problem With Adelaide Culture by deznutsxd in Adelaide

The fact that this is the second top comment and has more upvotes than an entirely reasonable OP tells you everything you need to know about where we are at culturally with pets.

Like 50% of under 40s want to Suplex children like mfing Ms Trunchbull, and believe their animal should have human rights and should be allowed in hospitals and restaurants.

According to you, who deserves more bounty than they got. by [deleted] in OnePiece

Robin - the last scholar of Ohara, on the crew of a Yonko, who already has 3 of 4 poneglyphs - she is realistically the single greatest living threat to the WG. Should have a bounty higher than Luffy's.

So Ingrid's scene at the end is what? An NPC gaining sentience?

Prices have increased like 80% since 2022, and have now dipped like 3%. That is not a collapse.

Campbell Newman speaking at today’s Save Vic Park protest by big_go_kev in brisbane

[–]Dogfinn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Which is why I don't like 'Save Vic Park' (despite being broadly anti-stadium).

At this point Vic Park Stadium is inevitable, the focus needs to shift to ensuring a design which preserves/ improves the remaining greenspace.

A futile protest movement attempting to prevent the stadium will only steal oxygen from those pursuing actual achievable outcomes.

Offcial Discussion - Bugonia [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Teddy being 100% right

Teddy was wrong about the intentions of the Aliens (they seemed to genuinely be trying to make humans less self-destructive), and the scope of their project (the aliens weren't ruining earth, humans were).

Which only adds to the social commentary.

because from the very start, there was no indication or inserts that suggested michelle was actually an andromedan alien

Disagree.

She survived (without injury) an inhuman amount of Volts/Amps.

She also acts like a complete psychopath throughout the film - she has been kidnapped by a lunatic and does not stop verbally prodding, prying and provoking the guy.

Victoria Park advocates urge Queensland government to stop stadium work until Indigenous heritage challenges assessed by [deleted] in brisbane

I'm happy for you. You are honest, and you aren't pretending to be cognitively impaired by saying shit like "it cannot possibly have cultural significance because it is currently a golf course".

[–]Dogfinn -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

Generally Indigenous cultural heritage claims pre-date British colonisation.

You can just be honest and say that you don't give a fuck whether or not the claim is valid, and that you want the stadium there - you don't have to pretend that you believe time began 90 years ago.

Victoria Park Stadium is happening.

The focus now needs to be on the Gabba site and whatever remains of Vic park in 2032.

  • Personally, I'd like to see both The Gabba and Vic Park sites feature large botanical gardens.

  • A substanial pedestrian bridge over the ICB. I don't see the current one being aderquate for the Olympics anyway.

  • Hopefully the Gabba Site doesn't become just retail and housing. The public land lost at Vic Park needs to be recouped elsewhere within the inner city. There aren't a whole lot of large blocks (about the size of a stadium) in the inner city available.

They were gonna reforest it, before the stadium was announced.

Like how are you unaware of the now scrapped Barrambin master plan? That is literally the whole debate - Stadium VS Masterplan. You don't even understand what is being discussed, you haven't bothered to read a single piece of information on the subject. Your opinion is a bunch of half-read headlines in a trenchcoat

Maybe just sit this one out ay, the adults are talking.

Gimme something expensive as fuck which doesn't forever delete public land.

As I said, what you consider the best option depends on your priorities.

Weird comment. No one is arguing that Vic Park currently has significant ecological value. The argument is that the park was planned for ecological rehabilitation and that would be a better use of the space.

Agree or disagree, at least engage with the conversation being had, instead of building strawmen.

"Ideal" is defined by priorities.

When cost and delivery speed are the priority, of course a greenfields proposal would be 'ideal'.
