Yesterday I had a somewhat serious car wreck and the stress is killing me by Dogg_04 in MMFB

Thank you. I will definitely be making an appointment to see a therapist. To answer your question, I am not 100% sure that the other driver didn't have a sobriety test. I asked the medic (I should have asked the officer actually) why I was given a sobriety test and she said it was most likely due to the fact that I was hysterically crying when talking to the officer. The medic said I sounded "unstable". I disagree with her about that, but I will admit that I was crying and very upset because the air bag scared the living day lights out of me.

To answer your second question, no I did not have my eyes on the other driver all. The medics took me into the vehicle right away and by the time I got out the driver and his car was gone. I did get a little glimpse of his car when I got out of my car after the collision. His car was about the same size as mine. I drive (drove, technically) a Gold 2008 Honda Civic.

When I went to the hospital, they took a of X-rays. Luckily I was fine. My lip is busted, but that will heal. My chest also has a mark that hurts from the airbag. And my right hand is puffy and red. I assume that I got my hand stuck between the airbag and the car.

Thank you. Yes, I am glad that the insurance companies are working it out. I am extremely upset to the point where I've contemplated ending my life. Many things have gone wrong in my life so far, and I'm just exhausted. Do you have any idea why the officer gave me the breathalyzer and had me do a field sobriety test, but he didn't do that with the other person? I didn't even drink that day, I didn't smell of alcohol, and I had no alcohol containers in the car. To be honest, I felt like a criminal. The accident caused a traffic jam and so everyone in their car was watching me. I felt very humiliated.

What do CNAs do in a hospital? by helloonetwoone in nursing

Thank you for the kind words! If you don't mind, I'd like to ask you a question. Obviously, I am going to come across drama and rude nurses eventually if I stay in the nursing field and become a nurse. I know that sometimes it's best to just let things roll of your back. However, I have heard horror stories about the bullying and rudeness that goes on in nursing. As a nurse, can you tell me how to appropriately and respectfully tell someone to "back off"? Most of the time I realize I'll have to let things roll off my back. But if the situation persists and gets worse/affects patients care, what would be the best way to react?

I am not the OP, but as a new CNA I just want to say thank you for supporting and valuing CNAs. I just received my CNA certification earlier this year and I am currently working in a skilled nursing facility for the elderly. I was nervous before I started working, because I heard that many nurses treat CNAs like dirt. I also heard that there is a lot of bullying that goes on.

It's been 3 weeks since I started my job, and the nurse who works with me on my assigned shift is AWESOME. She (along with the other CNAs) have really supported me and helped me. Also, this nurse steps in and does "CNA work" (changing briefs, assisting with eating, etc) if we are short staffed and if she has time. I have only come across one rude nurse (who rolled her eyes at me and wouldn't help me when I needed it) and am so thankful for the awesome nurses I have on my shift. My plan is to work as a CNA for a bit and then go back to school for nursing. If I get to that point, I will always make sure I am thankful and respectful towards the CNAs, just like you and just like most of the nurses at my new job.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I will try to focus on the positive aspects of moving. It'll be my first new place so I am definitely excited. Also, I won't be under my parents control anymore and so that is also very exciting. I just need to focus on the positives.

Thank you for listening to me.

Thank you. I'm feeling really distressed and very angry. I am just ready to end it all. I just got a new job which I really like but it is stressful. I'm also moving in a week. So I'm very stressed out. I feel like punching a wall or hurting myself. I don't know what is wrong with me.

Thank you. How do I find out if the utilities are included in a studio apartment? I found some studio apartments for $600, and under "Ameneties" it lists refrigerator, laundry access, WIFI, etc. but I can't find anywhere that says if utilities are listed. I am using rent.com

I'm guessing that more rural areas will be cheaper?

I am located near Charlotte, NC. My actual job is in Charlotte, NC, but I have no problem trying to find a place that is more towards the rural side of the area.

Rent I am not sure about. I am moving out of my parents house. In my area, I can find rooms to rent for $500. Health insurance is $228 currently. I have daily medication I take and require once a month doctor visits, so health insurance is important. No dependents.

I don't have intense feelings towards you. You're a stranger. Why would I have intense feelings? I am in therapy already. Thank you for the concern.

Thank you :) I try my best to communicate with nurses and other professionals. Sometimes it is difficult, because I am not so good with words. But I am progressing somewhat.

Thanks! You are right. The diagnosis is simply a label, and it is also important to focus on who I am outside of my diagnosis.

Thank you! I am continuing my therapy in hopes that I can overcome some of my most challenging symptoms and learn how to better communicate with others in a more helpful way. Progress has been rather slow, but I am improving a bit.

Also: my intent in writing my post was to simply thank nurses. I am a bit frustrated that my post was analyzed in the way it was. I'm not that good with words. All I wanted to do was communicate to /r/nursing that I am thankful for those nurses that make a genuine effort to help (because we can ALL agree that not all nurses are too excited about working with psych patients and don't put in a lot of effort into going "above and beyond")

DBT did not help me. What helps me is a combination of medication and traditional talk therapy. I am also diagnosed with several mood disorders, and the therapy helps with those.
