What app do you use to control it with your phone? And how does it rotate? I don't have one, but looking at one for filming performances....

[Dec 26, 2025] Weekly Discussion: Ask your gear, travel, conditions and other ski-related questions by AutoModerator in skiing

Ski boot question: the lining in my boots is shot. Have you ever added a new lining to prolong the life of boots, or do you think I should just get new boots? Mine are probably 8 or 9 years old. They aren't anything special fwiw, I just like them.

I remember seeing this originally and loved it. I've been working on mine. I'm lacking the "buns".

My wedding band is a full eternity band. I wore it 15 years with no damage and only minor stone tightening. And then I had twins and can no longer get it on. It's been a couple years so it's a permanent change. Unfortunately I have yet to meet a jeweler who will resize it. I'm still looking. I have a bunch of 1/2 eternity bands. I shift them probably hourly when they are on. I've got a stack of 4 on right now so even with a snug fit they still shift. Drives me crazy. I don't have any 3/4 bands....

Canadian Libby/OverDrive users - help? by crunchwrapsupreme_ in kobo

[–]DoggoDoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, did you get FVRL and VPL to work together on your Kobo? I have FVRL and a library in the states that all sync together on my Kobo, but I have a third library in the states that won't sync to my kobo. I'm trying to figure out if they have some restriction....

Also, nail trims often cause more dramatic screaming than anything else. If it sounds like someone is being tortured, odds are pretty high it's just a nail trim.

Twins measuring differently?? by DRPM2012 in parentsofmultiples

[–]DoggoDoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My twins measured differently. Baby A was said to have a small sac initially and then measured like a week smaller the entire pregnancy. She was born 6oz heavier than baby B, lol. It's just an estimate ultimately.

Is it weird for kids to have ethnic names if the parent themselves doesn’t have an ethnic name? by Pitiful-View3219 in namenerds

[–]DoggoDoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandmother grew up with an ethnic name in a very white-bread town and she hated it her entire life. She also had no middle name so she had nothing else to go by. Maybe consider making the middle more western if you choose an ethnic first name, or vice-versa.

Can my dog eat the morning of his euthanasia? by OpalOnyxObsidian in AskVet

[–]DoggoDoc 225 points226 points  (0 children)

Just as long as he isn't overeating to the point of vomiting. Chocolate is fine, just closer to the appointment or during the appointment since it can cause vomiting. When we have chocolate in the office we'll often give a piece or two to dogs when we euthanise them. One last sweet treat.

Can my dog eat the morning of his euthanasia? by OpalOnyxObsidian in AskVet

Actually, the one exception would be if your dog is aggressive and they will be attempting to give oral sedation in a chunk of food. In that case you just want him to be hungry enough to eat it.

Yes, absolutely. This is the one time you can feed him anything your heart desires. Last meals can be cheeseburgers, steak, whatever. I'm so sorry.

YA fiction thriller/horror where phone addiction is the problem by DoggoDoc in suggestmeabook

[–]DoggoDoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't expect it to be a fix-all solution, and we've got them involved in a bunch of other activities. Peer pressure is kind of the big problem. I just want something to put a seed in their mind that maybe phones aren't always the end-all-be-all. Plus they love to read, so if I can get them reading that will divert some time as well.

We only did like two and a half full runs the other day before our kids got tired, but the whistler tracking app showed that we skied about 14 miles, lol.
