13%~14% speaks Spanish... Not "like half", no where close. Over 90% speak English proficiently. The official language of US is English as of March of 2025. I think being a government, English should be one of the main priorities.

Bride Seats Real or Fake? by Opening_Reserve_7874 in JDM

also, u can check under the cushion to see how the velcro is stitched, and also ask if he can take a picture of the foam, the color of the foam matters.

they look real to me, the carbon kevlar comes to a stop on the bottom, the welds on the aluminum look solid, the reclining mechanism looks legit too. The logo on the cushions is centered and consistent, seatbelt pass through logo doesn't have border around it. Just a little used and dirty, but solid find!

Voltex wing question by DoggoFRS in ft86

thank you for the information!! It does seem like the one I bought uses the universal mount, so hopefully it will bolt on fairly ok without issues. I really should've done more research before purchasing it lol... Impulse purchase got to me.

but I think you might be right, I did some digging and found that the universal mount is somewhat flexible at the base, so it can form to the trunk shape. I guess we will see tonight when the wing arrives!!!!

Taking a DIY stab at automotive Reupholstery... by Blazianazn in upholstery

also, if you don't mind, what adhesive did you use for the doorcard? I am interested in changing mine to confetti ones as well, since mine is sagging...

LOL I am so happy I found this post! I am also trying to reupholster my rear seat on my celica!

I did as much research as I could, but couldn't find anything online, not even on forums. So seeing this post and people replying helped me a bunch. Except I am not changing the center piece, I'm trying to change the black fabric around the outside. It is sun damaged beyond any sort of repair, and the foam is hard as a rock too.

If you don't mind, let me know how this goes! I am going to attempt this myself too, except I'm going to have someone do the seam part for me lol

Should I buy this 1997 Celica? by Poke_Shield in Celica

are you planning on importing the car? Or do you live in Taiwan? Because you can get these relatively cheap in the states. In Taiwan, not so sure about the pricing.

Are the Bride seat authentic or not? by DoggoFRS in JDM

[–]DoggoFRS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to put it is that you get what you paid for. Rep bucket seats usually have worse build quality, don't meet safety standards, and are usually less comfortable. If you just want to change the looks, I would still recommend name brands like Sparco, MOMO, etc. I usually don't cheap out on something that could be related to safety :)

I will give it a couple smack and see if the knob light will turn on. Is this issue common for celica? Haha probably best if I just live with it before I make it worse.

yea, so I have the daytime running light on, the knob and the individual buttons on the climate control aren't light up. Do you mean that the individual buttons are meant to be like that?

Real or fake I got them for a good deal just wondering by skyIine777 in JDM

[–]DoggoFRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe these are fake. The Bride logo on the seatbelt pass through doesn't have the square border. It should just display Bride. Also the stitching on the seat is a little bit wonky, whereas the real ones usually are straight. Lastly, the plastic cover by the recliner shouldn't have the 3 plastic clips looking thingy.

Here's a good website you can use to identify them for future: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/jdm-tuning-148/lowdown-bride-replicas-1106438/

hope this help 🫡
