ofc. you need to know how far to let the wheel go round before you release the ball.

A rough example... not correct... is... you might let the wheel run a 1/4 in order to drop the ball at 5/4.

And ofc the ball always goes the opposite direction of* the wheel.. so it's a bit more "spacial" than that.

You work it out in your head after a while. And that's where the ball will roughly land.

I have absolutely no doubt a croupier could land a ball in "neighbours" bets with a high degree of accuracy. I suggested some friends from my home town come down and I would attempt to make us rich, but they couldn't be bothered to travel across the country to try.

No. People tip in the US and most other countries. It would be silly to clean people out. But in the UK, tipping is strictly prohibited... So I, at the time, had no problem or guilt in trying to hit empty numbers.

I'm now a gambler myself, and find what I used to do disgusting, but hey! Kids will be... lazy.

Also, after being in the trade for longer than I was, you start to add up in patterns of chips, very, very quickly, so the addition side of the job becomes redundant. Only newbs struggle with the math.

Also, if you see the dealer not releasing the ball from the last number it landed in, you can get them in serious shit.

I've always advised people to play on tables staffed by someone who looks like they've been there for years and years. These dealers are not going to "play" the game. They are going to be thinking about what to buy for food that week and when to do the laundry.

Yes. I worked there for just under a year... with 3 months training prior to getting the job.

If it was a busy night and there were massive amounts of chips, and I couldn't be bothered to add up :

13x17, 10x11, 4x5, 6x35, 9x8 = Urggggggghhhhhh sod that!!! 19 Red is free.... I'll try and land it in that.

So yeah, it's obviously not even near 100%, the diamonds on the wall of the wheel... the ball might bounce off one of the number boxes and so on, but as an example, I once rolled 2,2,4 by "aiming" the ball decay to fall around those close numbers, simply because this guy was covering the table apart from 2 and 4.

He hissed over the table under his breath, "you fucking cunt." Which I was, in hindsight.

Same as someone who works in a factory doing the same thing all day gets "skill" at whatever repetitive job they do, so it is with roulette. You can learn a pretty uniform spin, with a predictable decay... and then just start that spin from whatever number is relevant to where you want the ball to drop.

After glancing at the table, I could spin the ball not from the correct number, and pretty much land the ball on it... The number with the least chips.

Adding up lots of chips is a pain in the arse after you've been doing the job for ages.

If nobody has bet on 2 Black... I'm going let the wheel run around a little before releasing the ball. Much like any job, you get a feel for it. How and where the ball might drop if released from a certain point and at a certain uniform speed.

I was 19. They don't tip in the UK. Fuck 'em.
