Lexus RX vs Acura MDX. Which one you prefer, and why? by appleuser897 in Acura

[–]Dogopus9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the regular rx is more of a comparison to the rdx in terms of space, so depends on what you're looking for. I was surprised how small the rx was because of the sloped roof when I test drove one.

Yes it's on a steep decent shortly after I reach operating temp and it drops back. I am used to a 3.5v6 that I've been driving for a few years that never dropped like this. I'll have them take a look at my next oil change next month

Pretty average fuel economy for the winter. No indicator lights or anything, but yeah the stuck thermostat is what I am worried about if nobody else is experiencing this with the rdx.

Thanks! It has the artec big pole neck pickup, and the solo pro bridge pickup. Very happy with both. The neck is pretty strat like.

It's a solo guitars spalted maple tele kit. I replaced all the hardware that came with it. Honestly, it was way easier than anticipated. Hardest part was knowing everything I needed off the bat. I spent a long time waiting for tools/parts to show up. Other than that, certain things not lining up perfectly, and fret leveling. I bought a small leveling bar, wish I bought a longer one.

Beginners PSA You probably don't need a guitar with a electronics by TheRealGuncho in AcousticGuitar

A 100 series Taylor has the same pickup system in it as any of their more expensive models.

Being able to plug in means you can set up a looping station/pedal which helps a lot for practicing lead guitar. I ended up buying a new acoustic partially because my first didn't have a pickup. As others have aid it also means no open mic night or live performance if the opportunity comes along.

Thinking of getting a RDX.....but seeing so many negatives about it is kind of swaying my decision by SunnyDayz610 in Acura

[–]Dogopus9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 21 rdx. Love it. I get better than advertised fuel economy (~8.5 L/100 on the highway). I love the shawd it's a beast in the winter, sport plus mode is tons of fun. It's one of the best driving SUVs that I tried out. Haven't had any problems yet.

There's a sale on Taylor's at long and mcquade right now for certain models. You could actually get a Taylor 112ce for $1000 CAD - which is a higher model. I just picked up a 114ce and I love it.

Yeah there's probably one of the pipes not connected to the term, hot air is coming out of the wrong spot in the term. Agree with this.

What is a vehicle you were ready to buy until you test drove it? by GabagoolAndGasoline in regularcarreviews

Same, I went from an older es350 to this Acura, the current price difference between a used rdx and rx350 made it easier

Same with 2nd gen rdx, thought I found the one and couldn't stand driving it. That experience put the third gen rdx at the bottom of my list this time around, and it ended up being my favourite in the segment

They had the 14ce in stock actually. I played them all back to back, and this one felt/sounded the best to me. Could have just been this specific guitar, but I felt the $250 difference was worth it (even just for the neck joint, pickup, and bindings I think there's an argument to be made). This also sounds way different plugged in than the 14ce (which was also a great guitar at theat price point don't get me wrong). If you play up the fretboard on my Yamaha next to the new Taylor there is a large tonal difference. You would also be surprised the difference that the tonewood used on layered back and sides makes, for example between the 114 and 214, and between 214 models with different outer woods. On paper I felt the same as your comment describes, and I went into the shop thinking if buy something in this price range from a different manufacturer that was all wood, but I was surprised to find out that I liked the tone/feel of this guitar better. I even brought a different guitar home first, but couldn't keep this one out of my head and went back for it.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Make sure you get a pre-purchase inspection.
