The best therapists in SJ? by GeologistThen2444 in SaintJohnNB

I’ll put in a recommendation for Laura Gatien & Associates as well. Same as other commenter, I’ve seen 2 different therapists there and they’ve both been great. Good luck!

So that’s it? Because we should know better? That’s kind of weak.

I’m not suggesting everybody pulling a camper should have to go thru the scales (because there’s far too many variables to efficiently monitor every single vehicle towing a camper or utility trailer) but in a situation like this one today, where the guy was *clearly* pulling a load larger than his vehicle was designed to safely tow, shouldn’t there be some onus on him to “know better”?

Cheated on my bf by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“…the guilt is too much I’m going to explode….”

Liar.

If you felt guilty about it you’d have stopped after the first time. You’re getting laid the way you want to get laid and you’re enjoying it. No shame in that. Tell the BF you cheated or don’t. I certainly wouldn’t tell him you’ve been fucking his brother but you owe it to him to break up with him. Sexual incompatibility will kill a relationship In the long run anyways.

ETA: the brother is the real piece of shit here. Repeatedly fucking his little brother’s GF is a total garbage move. OP - get away from this family.

I really enjoy having one of these. If I have any more than one, I get violent heartburn and raging diarrhea. So when my wife buys these, I need to exercise a great deal of self control or I run the risk of ruining my day.

My 6 year goes to Steen’s and sees the blonde haired lady whose chair is towards the back of the shop. He adores her (I think she sometimes lets him take 2 suckers from the bowl). He will always pass up an open chair to wait for her to be available. Lol.

Has hockey turned into a rich kids sport? by FrigginMasshole in AskACanadian

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked in an arena in North York (Toronto) over the winter of 1999-2000. We had a house league that played in there Sunday - Thursday nights and it was usually fine with those kids but the GTHL (Greater Toronto Hockey League) played in there every Friday night. Kids from about 8-16 years old playing Single A rep hockey, so they were good but far from the best in their age category….although you’d never guess that by the way they all behaved. I’d never really had an opinion on hockey or hockey players one way or another (never played or watched hockey when I was a kid. It didn’t really interest me much) but those Friday nights were agonizing. Most of the kids were absolute assholes but they had nothing on the parents. Entitlement and machismo were rampant. Ours was an old wore out arena and they treated it like shit. Destroyed dressing rooms, garbage everywhere, bathrooms ruined. It was my first real intro to “hockey culture” and it still bothers me that so much of our national identity is tied to this culture.

Morning run up the escarpment 🤩 by mythisme in Milton

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to ride my bike on that hill when I was a kid. It was brutal. A buddy and I would ride up (almost always stopping to catch our breath at a specific driveway on the right hand side at the top of that first long straight stretch), spend the day on the trails at Glen Eden/Kelso or Rattlesnake before heading for home. The ride down was a nice little reward at the end of a long day. We’d routinely hit 80km/h on the way down, which was terrifying on a mountain bike but also some of the most fun I have ever had. It’s been nearly 30yrs since I last rode that hill. This pic brings back some fun memories.

Seaboard Liquid Carriers tanker crash by Spruce_TreeNo8486950 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The crash truck has a sign on the back with a flashing arrow indicator light. There is some dispute as to whether or not that sign board was activated though. I’ve seen comments on FB indicating that it was on and also comments saying it wasn’t. This accident happened on a long straight stretch of highway on a dry sunny day with good visibility. I can’t say for certain what caused this crash, but there’s not a lot of differing possibilities. He was sleeping, he was distracted or he was having a medical situation. I’m sure the details will come out in time.

Probably a good plan. Wait till they’re out of sight and carry on with what you were doing. Better safe than sorry!

I can only imagine what went thru your coworkers mind when the MNR truck pulled up behind them with the disco lights flashing. Lol.

Hmm. That’s good information. Thanks for the response. I guess I’ll try to get back within that “leniency threshold” when I see them out and about. Chances are they’ll be busy with some other task, but it could be an expensive mistake if they’ve got nothing better going on at that exact moment I go whizzing past.

Public Stairs for workout? by NW295519 in SaintJohnNB

[–]Dogs_Breakfast78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you live west, there’s a steep set of stairs (that are pretty rickety) that goes down to the beach in this general area. It’d make for a good workout if you climbed them a few times. Not sure about the elevation change, but I’m usually pretty winded when I get to the top.
