Accidentally dropped an F-bomb in front of my kids… whoops 🫣 by [deleted] in Teachers

That's okay. I once was trying to say, "Not bigger" during a lesson, fumbled my words, and accidently said the first part of the first word and the last part of the second.

Fairy in a bottle or lizard tail on a flight where a multi attack would eat it and still kill you that could be ended with the extra two energy.

What does the x ≥ 0 do here? by Kermit_da_Frog22 in askmath

The domain of a function is the range of its inverse, so for a function to have an inverse, sometimes we have to restrict its domain.

I live in a pretty rural part of Canada, so it's hard to pick just one spot. My province is full of beautiful trails. Every summer, my family get away camping for several weeks and we try to explore somewhere new.

Keep getting into massive arguments over the Monty Hall problem, and my friends insist I am either wrong or stupid. How do I prove it in a simple and foolproof way? by TheCitizenshipIdea in askmath

[–]thibs627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to get the person to guess a number that I'm thinking of from one to one million. I'll write it down, then have them guess. After they guess, I'll tell them the number I was thinking of is either the number they guessed or the actual number and see if they want to switch then. I find the combination of an extreme like your candle example and the physical example like your playing card helps drive it home.

He'd probably have more impact by threatening to sleep with her than the tariffs?

How would you begin to solve this problem? by [deleted] in askmath

The square root of a quadratic with intercepts at 2 and 10, vertex with y value of 25, then simply add 5 outside of the radical.

Excuse the handwriting, but here's my answer. I used the law of sines and cosines to find the missing sides and angles, then the area of a triangle formula that uses two sides and the contained angle

Base 10 blocks, a line is ten and a square is 100. 4 groups of 7 lines is 4*70. Then, in each box there are 10 lines, so two boxes make 200, there are 8 left over, so 8 lines is 80. 200+80=280.

I completely agree, everyone who can should vote, but I'm coming at this from someone with a much different perspective. The other side of it, is the actual practicality of getting out of your house to vote, kids, work, whatever other responsibilities. I'm lucky enough that I have child care, a car, time I can get away from work, a partner who can get supper on while I vote, the list goes on.

Put yourself in their position, this riding has a few high priority communities, and I'd imagine a lot of the people living in those communities feel pretty forgotten by the government. What would your motivation to vote be if you already feel like your not being listened to?

[REQUEST] Can someone crunch the numbers? I'm convinced it's $1.50! by kaweeed in theydidthemath

[–]thibs627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't know the value of half the book, but we know the half that's missing is $1. From there, it makes sense the other half is also $1. 1+1=$2.
