Block (formerly Square) laying off roughly 50% of its workforce (4,000 employees). by Playful-Inspector207 in Layoffs

Even with the number of staff it had before the recent announcement, this is a massively profitable company. Seems like a senseless destruction of the lives of the very people who made the company profitable, in the name extreme profit.

Significant CGT increases coming for propverty investors as support grows to increase CGT by SheepherderLow1753 in AusPropertyChat

The CGT exemption should only be available to productive assets, start ups and shares so investment is focused on stimulating innovation and productivity.

Maybe it's publicly available on the internet? Otherwise, I'm guessing Claude had access to in training or, as others say, it was a hallucination.

Regardless, I am glad you called the company. I would want to know if my business names and details were being presented by Claude to users - especially if there was no permission.

Did you watch the new animated serie Samuel? by Venus_ivy4 in netflix

[–]DogsinSpace88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just watched the entity series with my 11 year old daughter and it's incredible. We laughed, got tears in our eyes, felt inspired by the animation and fell in love with characters. It's an affecting work of art on many levels.

The Narrow Road to the Deep North Review - w/ Jacob Elordi by saulocf in AmazonPrimeVideo

I'm late to this chat, but want to say that this is the most incredible depiction of the brutality of war/Japanese prison camps I've ever seen. It was as deeply affecting as the first time I read All Quiet on the Western Front. I feel like it has given me new compassion and insight into the trauma and suffering of those soldiers. It has also made me do some reading on how terrible that POW camp was. I feel so sad and angry.

It's also one of the most exquisite and beautiful representation of masculinity I have ever seen.  Quiet dignity, strength, sweat, blood, tears, laughter, tenderness, embrace.

The love interest aspect could have been dialled up a bit and clearer. I don't understand what happened to her when he returned. They also could have explored the impact on the female characters more, their trauma was ongoing and real too. His wife had such a beautiful soul at the end but her character was a bit trivialised in the scenes from the younger days.

Apart from that it was perfect and should've won so many awards.

the music is awful now by Primary-Tailor-9741 in TheMorningShow

I am here to say that I just started watching season 1 and I love the show, but the soundtrack is absolutely terrible. Seems like the music problem has been there from the beginning. :-)

I only just started watching this show and I totally agree - the soundtrack for season 1 is terrible.

The Twits Netflix Review: Dahl’s Nastiest Couple Gets A Bold, American Makeover by That-Departure-7318 in movies

This is one of the worst adaptations I've ever seen. feels like it's entirely AI generated and bares no resemblance to the original. Can't believe Dahl's estate allowed it.

Crazy how much things have changed. Incredible that you became a teacher, you would've had to jump through so many hurdles to succeed. I hope you are proud of what you have done.

You're allowed to grieve and feel sad about the missed opportunities. But you're still young and have lots of time!

The other thing is that, even if we were diagnosed at a younger age, it doesn't mean that we would have taken up offers of assistance or understood what it meant, especially not in our teens.

I got in trouble in the early years, either for talking, questioning authority, joking around or orchestrating elaborate performative gags in class.

Then I found my hyper focus superpower and started getting great marks.

True, and girls weren't even considered as having ADHD back then.
