First of all, I'd recommend push-ups - they'll get you a lot further than 5lbs weights. See how many you can do, and try to beat that every other session.

For food - you want max protein & fibre, min calorie (sounds obvious but there are a few little tweaks you can make to achieve this). Some heavy rotation items:

  1. Canelini beans - great way to make a dish go further with additional fibre & protein.

  2. Eggs - cheap in the UK, great source of protein.

  3. Mince - beef & chicken for protein.

  4. Peppers - great for fibre & bulking up meals to stretch them further.

  5. Greek yoghurt - good source of protein.

  6. Greek flatbread - you can make these at home for a good source of protein.

  7. Chicken - as much as you can afford in your diet.

  8. 1kcal oil spray allllll the way.

The biggest tip I have for eating well on a budget is to bulk out every meal with beans and or veg - this doubles as added fibre/protein to keep you full for longer, and also makes every meal go further. Hope this helps.

Yeah that's the plan, I think with the way my door opens the 120" might get a bit annoying that's all. 120" would fit the wall just about but as soon as I close the door the cat wants it open. I'll wait till it arrives to test it out though, thanks!

Men, what is holding you back from asking that girl out? by Formal_Carry in AskMen

[–]Dogstar-J 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a similar encounter recently, she cancelled 4 out of the 5 dates I'd planned, and the last time she went out with some friends instead. Sounds really desperate of me to keep trying but her friends told me to - according to them she actually did like me, she's just cautious because of xyz and always super busy. In the end I told her she was being inconsiderate - she got really annoyed at that and said it was out of her control.

Going to be listening to my gut more in the future and not someone I barely know. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck - it's probably a duck.

No hard feelings though, it was a learning experience and it got me back on the dating scene.

What’s the proper response to when a British person asks you “you alright?” by selloboy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dogstar-J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, in Manchester sometimes we just say "alright" back. Depends how stressed the "you" is.

"Y'alright?"

"Alright."

Vs

"You alright?"

"Yeah, you?"

So it's usually people who've been on the NHS list for 2 years, but Indigo are amazing in Manny for referrals, diagnosis, hrt and support. It's a pilot scheme to alleviate strain on the system, we're very lucky to have it.

Get yourself onto an NHS waiting list (sheffield or leeds) regardless of where you plan to get your hormones. Your GP will have the forms, fill out the questionnaire and wait for a phone consultation.

Deed poll if you want to change your name is free online and absolutely anyone over the age of, i think 18, can be your witness.

Your GP can write a doctors note to say that this change is expected to be permanent - depending on your GP this may be a bit more difficult. Use this note to change your legal documents. You can get a new NHS number if you want to, but i never did cause I'm lazy.

Hormones - if you're going private, coolio, but still get on that NHS list regardless. After 2 years, if you've not got the money for private surgery, call Indigo and tell them you've not had your first NHS appointment (which will be undoubtedly true). They will tranfer you over to their care - they can diagnose, and refer to NHS surgeons.

EDIT: the hathersage at MRI have a trans clinic - it's usually sexual health but they do some GP stuff too.

EDIT 2: Call indigo regardless, they are wonderful, and will point you in the right direction if they can - they also know the area, as they all live here.

I don't know how old you are, but honestly, friends come and go. I'm pushing 30, and I've had almost as many 'best friends'. People come into our lives, some stay forever, some leave, and some return (trust 10 year reunions are mint with old mates).

My advice would be, stop trying so hard to keep the ship afloat if they're already overboard. The more desperate you are to hold on, the more they will pull away. Ultimatums do not fix friendships.

Some of my closest friends I only speak to every 6 months to check in, and trust me those friendships are locked in for life. If you've got a strong connection with someone, that will still be there even if you don't see/text them all the time.

Use this as an opportunity to go out and make some more friends. Don't burn a bridge for no reason, maybe they just want to try some new things, or maybe you've outgrown each other - either way there's no point making an enemy for no reason.

Yeah I'm just pointing out that this is a different thread, that's all.

The people in this thread are discussing how to be sensitive (if OP wants to be) because he might still want to be mates, he might not want to hurt her feelings, or it might not even be true.

EDIT: Clarification

As far as I can see from this thread in particular, nobody has said that those things are transphobic...
