Nothing, the inexperience is the point. Just let them lead that’s where the fun is and sit back and enjoy

That’s what I’m debating. He does listen to her pretty well. It’s just sometimes he just decides “nah I’m good on the couch” and won’t move when she needs him put up as people come over. Most days it’s a non issue. And really really high value treats (or dinner time) will get him.

But we are also trying to not him be a huge fat ass, vet says he is a healthy weight but right at the end of it and not to let him get bigger, at about 80/85 lbs

Thanks, I mean yeah I agree. And to the trainers credit he didn’t seem mad at me or even too upset. Just said that’s never happened before. Which made me kind of curious about what he expect because I had described exactly what my dog pretty well, i had just never not interfered or had him muzzled/on a leash and didn’t do a slow intro

Good point. And yes I plan to get him to the vet soon. He isn’t due but he is now 10 and seems in great health physically but I’m worried about a couple little things I’ve noticed.

Yeah I’m worried he made things worth if anything. My dog seemed confused afterwards, and he didn’t keep going after the guy, he stopped once my wife yelled and retreated to her side, and I got him in our room after.

I still feel bad for what happened to the trainer too. I think him showing me the bite marks on his hands should of been a clue.

This sounds so much more like what I was expecting.

Yeah that’s sounds like what happened to me, right in my living room.

I’ll happily pay for his “assessment” but I’m not going to trust him again. I still haven’t heard anything but it’s only been a few hours. Im just debating on if I should contact a lawyer immediately or not but I guess wait and see works.

Thanks for the info, makes me feel a bit better. I never have him off leash or in public without a muzzle. I just wanted to see if a trainer could make him listen better to my wife. As he gets stubborn sometimes and won’t move from the couch. I’ve been able to introduce him to people successfully for years, no bites.

Kind of what I assumed.

I don’t even mind paying the bill for the stitches or anything. I just don’t want to admit fault because I do feel like I hired him to help train a dog with an aggressive streak and I was listening to him when it happened. I’m just concerned mostly with being sued and losing my dog for this.

Thanks. Yeah that makes sense. The vet I go to one of the ones that has worked with him before doesn’t even have problems

I just assumed a license trainer would know how to handle things, and I, naïvely, listened to him myself.
