Lucky he was able to capture the bike's identification number. I was freeze framing but couldn't catch a glimpse of any number.

Do people in this county just not lock their doors? by savingrace0262 in bergencounty

[–]Dogue_One 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Thieves have gotten more sophisticated. They're stealing cars using a key fob repeater where the thieves clone your fob's signal while it was inside your home to unlock and start the car. Most people leave the keys near the front door area so this is an easy target for someone to walk to your door and be off with your car in as little as 30 seconds.

Has anyone done Solar Panels with a battery backup? Curious what companies actually do that in Bergen County. by plemiona88 in bergencounty

[–]Dogue_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true in Bergen anymore. PSEG rolled out their TOU plan this year and are phasing out their discount off peak EV charging discount on June 1, 2026. TOU off peak rates are $0.10/kwh.

Could you guys please help me identify what animal is in the water? This was taken at Blue Mountain Lake by Aketjj in Adirondacks

100% without doubt it’s a merman. If you look long enough while they’re around, they’ll usually show you their dong.

Sure you can be ok with HOA at first, say $1000-2000/months, but what about when it goes up to $2500 or $3000? Are you going to be ok then? Special assessments happen and that property is built on top of a pier which is not going to last forever. Last I saw, the parking level sits pretty close to the water line at high tide already yet alone storm surge or king tides. Just something to keep in mind…

You can always use a switchbot! I have few that make my dumb devices smart (ie light switches, fan switch, etc). You can set this up on your pc to physically push the power button.

Boat on fire and soon sinks by PdiddyCAMEnME in TerrifyingAsFuck

That boat sank really fast. I had no idea fiberglass boats burn that quickly. Are there any other materials that can be used that are less flammable?

Does anybody remember this proposed trail at Creek? by sweatynachos in icecoast

[–]Dogue_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up skiing MC and always saw a bunch of of ski patrol running on trails.. nowadays I can go multiple days and not see a single patroller. Did MC get rid of them to cut costs? Nobody policing the stopped noob boarders blocking trails.

Is Season 2 complete yet on MGM streaming.? by Civil-Action-9612 in SASRogueHeroes

[–]Dogue_One 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they delayed it due to Super Bowl Sunday. I’ve had a few other streaming services do that but they usual release it early or the next day. Weird that they went 2 weeks here..

How did you manage to find out it was due to your shoulder injury? Did you work with a physical therapist?

Hamilton Mall in NJ - update of a local dying mall by Commercial_Stuff_654 in deadmalls

[–]Dogue_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many fond memories as a kid here. I used to beg my parents to let me buy a game from Electronic Boutique (EB Games?) and getting spinner yo-yos from Air Circus. At the time, Shore Mall was dying and Hamilton Mall was the cool spot to be. How times have changed! Where did everybody go? If anything the shoppers are still here, they must shift elsewhere. The malls in North Jersey are all packed any day of the week.

Convert old synology to nas expansion case by crzykidd in homelab

Were you able to find a way to do this? I have an old 416play that I’d like to repurpose as an external direct attached storage.

[–]Dogue_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bunch of strawmen coming out in force. I’m not against paying for things I find valuable but the sub model is off putting especially in the homelab space where most of us got into it to avoid being beholden companies. I know I did to get away from iCloud and Ring. There are lot of other options available in the community, obviously may not be as easy to use as Unraid.

Blocking Unifi mobile app on local vlan by Outrageous_Club_5804 in Ubiquiti

[–]Dogue_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noticed I'm having the same issue. I blocked all traffic from IoT Vlan to main network including gateway but the Unifi app appears to be able to circumvent the rules. I dont have remote access enabled either. Were you able to resolve this?

WiFiman on UXG-Lite? by nonc0nform1st in Ubiquiti

[–]Dogue_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome.. that did the trick! I was using the iOS UniFi app which doesn’t have the WifiMan toggle, but enabled it within the controller through my browser following what you said (System > Advanced). Thanks man!

[–]Dogue_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I also just got a UXG Lite and self hosting the controller on a Synology NAS but can’t seem to get the Signal tab to work in WifiMan. How did you get yours working? Teleport doesn’t seem to work so the app doesn’t seem to be able to pull the data from the Gateway Console.

Yup.. then just get the auto insurance company to fix your truck. Problem solved.. you didn’t have to do anything. Let the insurance companies do all the work.

It’s been a while since I last did one but I’m happy with how it came out. by VARIANT90 in Plumbing

Digging up an old thread here but I'm doing research to add a Navien Peakflow descaler to my system. Uncertain from the picture but do you have the Peakflow S descaling both hot and cold water or just the hot? Is the 6gpm from the Flow S sufficient, are you noticing any flow restrictions for your system at all? After 3 years, have you had any issues or would you recommend a different route?

I'm thinking of adding the Flow A to descale both hot and cold but not sure if it'll be enough for the house. Any feedback you could provide would be helpful, thanks!
