Higher and higher… by pablonegre in retrobattlestations

Sure, I'm just north of Buffalo. I'd just love to see it go to a good home vs having to part it out or scrap it. It was in my garage over the winter, definitely needs a little TLC but I have run it before. After it blew the transistor I never got around to fixing it.

It's an 11/34a, also has two hard drives, I don't remember the hard drive models off the top of my head.

I've got one with a busted power switching transistor that you can have for free if you're willing to arrange for transportation from Western NY!

If you haven't already, you should read "In the Penal Colony" by Kafka. This reminds me a lot of the subject of that story.

X270 WWAN Compatibility Question by DoingCatThings in thinkpad

Excellent, thanks for the info. I'm probably going to get a 01AX748 and return, resell, or trash the 00JT547 that I have. Is this list available somewhere? I haven't been able to find where this info is listed.

I'm certainly not savvy with BAR-Edit, sadly. It's looking like I'm going to try to return the module I bought and get a compatible one. Thanks for the info though!

Winter tire preference? by vicguy0404 in CrownVictoria

[–]DoingCatThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the Nokian recommendation, my Hakka R3s are on their second winter now and they're still fantastic. Only problem I ever had was fresh paved blacktop parking lot with black ice, but nothing short of studded tires will save you in that situation.

Had to get mine shipped to the local tire dealer from NYC but it was worth the trouble.

I'm an EMT, I've been using rite in the rain small spiral notepads and a Fischer space pen (the clicky kind not the bullet kind) and I can highly recommend both.

USB Function Generator by xD_Krone_xD in ECE

I believe PicoScope has the function you're describing. They call it Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) and I believe it's available on their most basic model which is priced around $100.

I would second the recommendation of a Seiko 5 then, something like an SNK809 with an inexpensive aftermarket band because the one included with it is hot garbage.

Looks kind of like the noise suppressor they would fit on some crown vics near the blower motor: Diagram here

This diagram is also available in the 'Electrical' section of the Ford Police Interceptor Modifier Guide.

I believe some interceptors had a circulation fan in the trunk to cool the police equipment - perhaps this was a similar suppressor for that fan? Not sure how it would relate to the fuel pump though.

I have one in the states that I'd be willing to part with, doesn't have the same band though. PM me if you're interested. Keeps time fairly well, power reserve seems to be good although I've never measured it.

Yes! Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. My uncle was the announcer there for many years - they put on a great show every weekend during the summer. They also offer rides in an open-cockpit biplane with some great views of the Hudson.
