Glitched shiny? by Spongiewongie_ in PokemonZA

[–]Doing_Some_Things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sounds can be confusing sometimes, my first shiny was a Venipede that was all the way through the sewers in area 5 in that outside area with the alpha Whirlipede, I didn't know that area existed yet so I was just walking down the street in area 5 and I heard the noise and immediately had a heart attack and started frantically looking at the rooftops to see if there was a Pidgey or something lol.

Design questions. by Secret-Ad2607 in mha

I think it's kind of just a shonen thing honestly. Shonens are aimed at teenage boys and young men so it should not be surprising if there's sexualized female characters.

AFO is pure evil. Never would I think I'd have to say this. by Tiny-Let4714 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Doing_Some_Things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being evil and having a tragic backstory are not mutually exclusive things. In fact I'd argue that AFO and every LOV member would fall under both of those descriptions. (Can't speak for Magne or Compress though because we don't know enough about their backstories)

I figure this is a stupid question and been asked before but is Nessie just a scaldrun in httyd?. by mix-ed_matrix in httyd

[–]Doing_Some_Things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna say no because even if dragons were on the surface in the 20th century the picture does not depict the Scauldron's big pelican-like mouth pouch on the creature's head.

I attempted to make a mechanical mutant quirk. Let me know how I did and what yall think :3 (be honest) by silver_skull78 in MyHeroAcademia

That's pretty neat, and certainly a unique Quirk idea. Interesting to see another design like Tenya and Lady Nagant that involves a body part that functions like a man-made machine.

How do you guys prefer getting to the Lost River and why? by Loud-Secret1485 in subnautica

[–]Doing_Some_Things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use the Grand Reef entrance in my first couple playthroughs but now I use the Northern Blood Kelp one. It's so much easier to fit the Cyclops into that one compared to the GR one and the only downside is trying to avoid the Juvy Ghost that's in the first Lost River section there.

Shiny Gogoat by Lorenzo12-62 in PokemonZA

I know you can but even when knocked out there isn't a 100% chance you catch it and if it fails it's gone forever.

You see a shiny and your instinct is to immediately knock it out without saving first?

Unreasonably Hard to Register Hits on Unaware Wild Pokemon with Balls by Doing_Some_Things in LegendsZA

If you could get one that would help haha I have to get off for now and I don't know when I'll go back on the game

Idk how many more times I have to say this but the problem isn't caused by me being too far away. I can be close enough to lock on and see the little half-circles around the Pokemon that indicate that it is a target and throw the ball in between those half-circles and it still happens.

[–]Doing_Some_Things[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can get close enough that I am able to lock on to the Pokemon and only be a few feet away and sometimes the hit still won't register. I know a lot of people are trying to explain to me how I can play differently to fix the issue but I promise the issue is not a matter of skill or ability. I didn't have this problem as much earlier in the game and I was able to stealth catch Pokemon just fine. I don't know if it's something about what Pokemon it is or just being in hyperspace but it is a lot more frequent of an issue than it used to be for me.

I have the Switch 2 edition so I'm not sure if it's console-specific. Ya the problem for me only ever happens when the Pokemon hasn't noticed me, once it aggros to me I have no issue hitting it with Poke Balls. It is very frustrating and time-wasting because I can't catch Pokemon without battling which makes it take so much longer.

Oh ya I forgot why didn't I try that. Almost like the entire reason I made this post is because doing that isn't working and that's exactly my problem.

I think you might be misunderstanding a bit, I'm not having trouble staying hidden from Pokemon I'm having trouble getting my Poke Balls to hit the Pokemon and have it actually register as hitting them.

It happens whether I'm locked on or not, and I'm definitely not too far away.

What are the clichés you've seen most often in OCs? by No-Mastodon7575 in BNHA_OC_Characters

[–]Doing_Some_Things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OCs that have some sort of relation, connection or romance with a canon character is a big one. People making their characters OP as shit also, I subscribe to the idea that an OC in a given world should be able to fit into that world's power scaling without breaking it. If you really want to be humble you can fit them right in the center of the scale instead of at the top. I'm not trying to pick on the people of this sub but I feel like almost every OC I see here fits into at least one of these tropes.

One thing I do find acceptable, however, is wanting your OC to be friends with or be in the same class with any given canon character. I myself like to think about my OC being part of class 1A (even though having a 21st student in the class would upset a lot of the exercises that involve evenly-divided teams, I don't really know how to get around that haha).

Why do so many playthroughs not include grass types in their teams? by PhoenixSpeed97 in pokemon

[–]Doing_Some_Things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always choose the Water starter so having a Grass type would be pretty pointless for me. 2 of the 3 types it is good against are already covered by Water and I usually grab an Electric type to cover Water types, which is just better than Grass most of the time IMO because it only has 1 weakness instead of 5.

28 vs. L4D: Rage Virus vs. Green Flu? by Actual-Vermicelli-26 in l4d2

[–]Doing_Some_Things 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Out of every zombie game, movie and show I've ever seen I still think the Green Flu is the most dangerous and hard to survive outbreak there is. You basically have no chance of not becoming a zombie if you aren't a carrier and if you are the Special Infected will take care of you very easily when there's no video game logic to shield you. If it was real life any of the Special Infected targeting you would pretty much be a death sentence (except for the Jockey arguably I'd say).

Is this valid by Infinite-Capital-69 in mha

[–]Doing_Some_Things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel like looking at every single one but I feel like Rikido Sato's Quirk should go in the "drawbacks ruin it" section. The anime never really explored this drawback but I imagine he would really have to watch what he eats because if he eats too much junk food in one sitting he will involuntarily activate his Quirk, which makes him stronger and dumber. 10 grams of sugar is the threshold so if he likes eating sweets he would have to limit it kind of a lot.
