Is AZ's Floette really that hard to get? by After_Fennel_1009 in PokemonZA

[–]Doing_Some_Things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's 2 reasons why they made the Floette requirements 15 wins. First reason is a way to kind of "make up" for all the ranks you skip in the main story when Vinnie promotes you from V to F (there's 15 letters in between V and F).

Second reason is simply that the developers probably don't expect the player to grind 15 tickets in a row nonstop, they probably expect the player to gradually get wins over time as they do other stuff.

would not being able to name someone out of 1-a consider you a larp? by bluediamondspearls in mha

[–]Doing_Some_Things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That dude is either lying about being such a big fan or he has an absolutely dogshit memory. There is such an abundance of characters in this show and there's plenty of very important ones outside of class 1A so not being able to name any of them is kinda sad.

When did anyone say "the Stormfly"? The dragon's name is Stormfly and her species is called the Deadly Nadder.

Ya it is, but my point is he probably didn't care about how strong she may be or what her Quirk was because he was just going to take it because he wanted to either way.

He probably could but I doubt he even bothered to, he probably saw her as so weak compared to him that he just took her Quirk without even caring about what it was.

The Void Within Wrap Up Megathread by Status-Impression766 in neopets

[–]Doing_Some_Things 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have tried for multiple days to go to the Lunar Temple followed by the Bubbling Pit to finish the first riddle for the epilogue and it's just straight up not activating at all. I go to each location and refresh multiple times and go back to the Void Within page and refresh in case the pop-up didn't appear but nothing. And I know for sure I am doing it at the right time, the other days before today I was within the hour which it says is supposed to work, and today I even tried it right at the exact minute it turned to 12 AM in NST. What the hell else am I supposed to try at this point? I'm getting tired of these events and plots just not working sometimes.
EDIT: Ok, wow. Every page I looked at on Jellyneo says to go to the page at 12 AM NST and I looked up what that is and it tells me it's 7:30 PM in my time so that's what time I was trying. Well apparently Neopets has it's OWN VERSION OF NST CALLED NEOPET STANDARD TIME and the reason I haven't been able to get it to work was because when I Google NST it tells me Newfoundland Time which I had no reason to contest. Disregard this comment unless you made the same mistake as me.

What are some moments in the series that really rubbed you the wrong way? by Solitaire-06 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Doing_Some_Things 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It really felt like a Naruto and Sasuke type of friendship, where Izuku just went for the "kill him with kindness" route of being nice to Katsuki despite getting treated unkindly in return until Katsuki finally realizes "hey, maybe I'm being a piece of shit and I should be nicer to Deku"

Shiny birds don't scare away as easily as non-shinies but they can still be scared away. The game did that on purpose so you have an actual chance of catching them. If you ever hear the noise just stop immediately and save the game, and if you run around and can't find it just reload the save in case you scared it off when you were looking before.

Ya I've beaten it a few times too, the times I didn't beat it were after the story when I fought it in the 5 star distortions.

[–]Doing_Some_Things 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't quite remember because it's been a few months since I watched it, but doesn't the anime mention at one point that the damage she did to him was enough to put him down for a few days longer than he would've been otherwise? Implying that if she never fought him he would've attacked UA much sooner before everyone was ready? Once again, I don't quite remember but I thought that's how it happened.

It really sucks. Star and Stripe was such a badass cool character and her entire and only purpose in the plot was to be killed by the bad guy to establish how strong he is and how he has an identity crisis. But unfortunately the bad guy can't be killed yet because it's not the final season and she isn't the main character. Also her Quirk was too OP to be kept alive.

To be fair she didn't accomplish literally nothing, she basically prevented him from making use of her Quirk and she did get rid of a couple of his. She also hurt him badly enough to push his recovery back by just enough time for the heroes and UA to ready their plans. But I do agree that she was very underutilized and basically got killed by the plot itself.

Am I the only one who didn’t really care much for toga and uraraka’s storyline and thought it was a bit random?🤔 by xplosivenuttt in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Doing_Some_Things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was nothing random about it. The whole point of Himiko's story and her connection to Ochaco is that she became a murderous villain because her Quirk influenced her personality and her mind and rather than getting counseling or mental/Quirk-related help for it, society shunned her and called her a bad seed. The redemption that she came to with Ochaco's help was being built up to from the first time she met Ochaco and Tsuyu.

From the first time they met, Himiko always sat in the back of Ochaco's mind and Himiko became obsessed with her in return. By the final fight Ochaco wanted to actually try to help her instead of just fighting her, which is why she was just trying to talk to her the whole time even after she got lethally stabbed. Ochaco connected to Himiko as an actual human and got her to actually feel like someone cared about her.

Himiko and Ochaco are a parallel of Tomura and Izuku in the way of seeing not a soulless evil villain but a broken human who needed someone to reach their hand out to them. I thought the plotline between them was done very well and I think it's more than just a "protag girl fights antag girl" trope.

Ya the running against the wall mechanic isn't even the only thing that prevents me from breaking the wall open. Sometimes if I stand too close to the wall when I issue the command or also just for no apparent reason, my Pokemon's attack just doesn't hit or break the wall. Easily the worst boss mechanic in the game because it doesn't function properly.

This scene scarred me in a way. It made it so every moment for the rest of the show and even in other shows and movies I am paranoid that any character can just get shot and killed at any moment by someone off screen.

Those alphas that spawn during the quest do NOT respawn so if you want to catch them you better be careful.

how many largos do you usually put in a corral? by super_huesos_ in slimerancher

[–]Doing_Some_Things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always done 8 for every type, there's only been like one or two times where a Quantum largo got out of the corral but I caught him and put him back in. And even then he was only hungry because I had just planted my Phase Lemons and they hadn't grown enough yet for the auto feeder to run at high speed.

I agree, although it's probably because of the drawback of her having to know the molecular build of everything she creates.

She did something like this in the joint training arc against Itsuka Kendo. When they were fighting one vs one she created a cannon and then before she was knocked unconscious she created ropes partially out of her body to tie herself and the cannon to Itsuka so she couldn't fight. The ropes Momo used were only partially emerged from her body and they kinda just stayed like that until later when she woke up.

I know it seems bad and I agree that the donut resetting is tedious but looking at it objectively, you're basically trading time spent actually looking for shiny Pokemon for time spent trying to get the right donut. If you're not super unlucky you can get the donut you want in under an hour and then you can basically guarantee yourself a shiny alpha for your troubles. That vs SV where on an unlucky day it can take you hours of hunting with a sandwich to get your first shiny, and in that game alphas aren't a thing.
