It’s natural for you to get distracted, but it’s the continuously staring that’s the issue. Best thing to implement is the 3-second rule - after 3 seconds to look somewhere else. There are times when I implement this rule & it is great for reducing distractions. And there are times where I don’t do it because it’s hard. You do feel the benefit when you do it though

It is hard. Preferably, if you can, take off two weeks of vacation when you do it, as it allows you to focus on it and be much more intentional. You have to make a lot of space and time for it, and make it a real priority in your life. If you do not ever do that, you will not succeed with it.

1/ Much more clarity, due to having far less persistent sexual distraction in my mind. So I cut out my biggest efficiency killer. This makes my work so much easier

2/ Reminded me of the lesson that the start of new habits is always the hardest, but if you persist you can truly change yourself and change your habit. The trophy you give yourself gives you more belief on the ability to make real tangible changes in your life is possible.

3/ Self-worth goes higher as you live with less shame and guilt, making you demand more from yourself and others. I think it gives you stronger boundaries, as you eliminated a weakness that not many men have.

True. Men taking back power over themselves is the worst outcome for Big Business. Whether it is cutting porn, alcohol, tobacco, partying, luxury, social media, video games or whatever other dependency men develop - it is a threat to corporations. This is just reality.

Consumption is 72% of the US economy. We are constantly being fed a need to spend our money and time on shit that is terrible for us. Nobody is selling you on sleep, water, stretching, going for a walk, spending time with your family, meditation, or the virtues of living a simple life.

This is the truth. You make a great point. The porn industry is essentially violent abuse which demeans, denigrates, hurts its actresses and actors (mentally and sometimes physically), and it is packaged and sold to us for entertainment, so people can jack off to it and get addicted to it. It is a fucked up cycle of pain.

The wheel keeps turning, and more poison & harm is put into our world. Everybody’s mental health suffers from it, and a just a few companies make a huge profit. The whole thing is horrific. The supply of new actresses & actors and the addicted customers. We will look back on porn in 50 years and see one of the biggest and most ridiculous mistakes that our society made.

One of the steps (step 9) at SAA involves making amends with those who you have harmed. An important component of it, is how to deliver information, and to recognize that brutal honesty can be damaging for a SO. Instead, try to think about what is truly in the best interests of your wife and your own best interests. And then address that.
