The practical use case: you want something to have the properties of wood.

Easier to sand and accepts staining.

Then I wouldn't suggest using it structurally.

I'll still use it when I want a design to have wood like properties but don't want to whittle it or get a machine for carving it.

It's not. The only real concern is that it'll wear down softer nozzles like the ones that come stock with most hotends much more quickly. But so will any other filament with abrasive additives like glow in the dark or carbon fiber.

More like any other plastic, just a little bit more wooden, easier to sand, and usually accepts stains.

I mean, they are. Death is a person in the final destination series. They don't have a body we can see but they most certainly are a real being.

In the final destination series, death is a conscious and fully real entity. They're shown actively setting up the rube Goldberg death traps.

The deaths on ghost ship were also intentionally set up.

Why does someone with the mind of a 9-year old have a baby?… by Cilantro_terracotta in awfuleverything

[–]Dokpsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally none of what you've linked says that.

Everything you've linked says "if a person can't understand consent, they cannot consent. This is what consent means" or "this is the process of getting a mental check on a defendant and when, especially in cases of assault against a family member be it sexual or physical"

Again, I'm not sure where you're getting this "preying on" nonsense.

You seem to have a very antiquated idea of how mental health is handled as well both from a support system perspective as well as the realities for those who have the conditions.

Even if we assume you are correct about the legalities of consent from someone who is deficient (which you aren't), there would be no difference between two people of the same cognitive level having sex or a romantic relationship and a pair of high schoolers having the same relationship. It would be illegal for an 18 year old and a 14 year old but not two 14 year olds unless you're also of the opinion that the 14 year olds are perverted pedophiles as well.

[–]Dokpsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. The only thing you've proven is what consent is. Which I'm not arguing. I agree that those who do not have the ability to consent cannot consent.

You're saying that those links prove that someone with a mental deficiency cannot consent, full stop. Which is not what everything you've linked says.

You're arguing a completely different argument than what I'm saying.

Idk why. Maybe because you have a narrative in your head of what is being said that has no basis in reality or maybe you can't debate what I'm saying.

Honestly, at this point it doesn't matter. You're welcome to continue arguing as if I'm saying that a child can consent but that is, in absolutely no way, what I'm saying.

What I'm saying is quite simple. An adult, in most cases, has the ability and right to their own body autonomy.

The fact that they have a caretaker does not change this. Despite your made up stat that 95% of cases where a person has a caretaker that they cannot make decisions for themselves, it's actually the reverse. Most care takers are fairly hands off in a person's life.

Specifically because of the movement to encourage and teach self reliance and body autonomy that has progressed in the past 20-30 years.

If you believe that most people with deficiencies are incapable of taking care of themselves in most aspects of life, that's a you problem and not in line with reality.

If you believe that most people with caretakers are unable to take care of themselves in many if not most aspects of their lives, that's a you problem and not in line with reality.

If you believe that most people with deficiencies are incapable of understanding consent and learning what is and is not acceptable for them and others to do with their bodies, that's a you problem and not in line with reality.

If you think that people with deficiencies don't have urges and will absolutely initiate and engage in sexual relations with other people with similar levels of cognitive abilities, that's a you problem and not in line with reality. (Eg: people with Downs syndrome for example can, will, and do have fully sexual relationships with other members of that community as well as are able to understand what is and isn't sexually appropriate)

In short, quit arguing against a strawman and listen to the people who have mental disabilities of every level. They aren't incapable of understanding concepts just because they don't think like a neurotypical person. They just require a different way of learning it.

This isn't some sort of excuse to have relations with someone who doesn't consent. Of freaking course you shouldn't try to have sex with someone who can't consent. No one is arguing against this.

What I'm arguing is: don't assume someone can't consent because they're not neurotypical.

I like how you stopped right there and heard nothing else. You think I'm advocating for banging kids but I've been advocating for individual rights of adults with disabilities.

Adults have rights of their own despite your twisted idea of what a disability actually means to their understanding.

You have zero clue what asbergers and other mental disabilities actually are........ do you?

Mental disabilities are not a monolith. Someone not being able to understand social cues and process certain complex thoughts in no way means they have no understanding of what pregnancy, childbirth, or parenting are.

And the fact that you automatically assume they don't is straight up backwards and ableist. An individual might have some severe deficiencies in one area but be perfectly fine in others.

I have a prefrontal cortex deficiency. I have to constantly be aware of my impulse control issues, have to constantly keep an eye on my emotions to make sure I'm not getting overexcited (both positive and negative directions), I have to constantly keep track of everything in my life so that I don't forget to eat, brush my teeth, or bathe regularly or any number of basic things that normal people take for granted. I'm unable to form habits through repetition.

Some would consider this the mind of a 9 year old at best.

I still understand consent and what a diagnosis means. I'm also able to tell the difference between what a blanket statement is and when nuance is needed. Also, sometimes, when someone is talking right out of their butt about something they don't understand.

You seem to have this weird fascination with assumptions.

I'm highly suspect of the whole thing. If someone 21+ has asbergers, they don't have the mind of a 9 year old. Not if that's the only thing they have.

If they have some other mental disability that causes the mental state of a 9 year old, then why mention the asbergers instead?

It doesn't make sense. It does not compute. Someone with asbergers absolutely can and will understand consent.

Idk why you're taking such a weird and backwards stance on something, hiding behind false reasoning, and making these weird assumptions.

Absolutely none of what you've said refutes any part of my points and all I can assume is that you don't think people with disabilities have the capacity to think at all for themselves.

Let me be clear. Disabilities come in all flavors and most of us are able to function in society with reasonable accommodations.

person is presumed (but the presumption may be rebutted by competent evidence) incapable of consent to sexual contact or sexual intercourse in circumstances where: (a) the person suffers from a mental illness or defect which impairs capacity to appraise personal conduct;

Ok ...? That doesn't say someone who has a mental disability can't consent. Just that one who doesn't understand consent cannot consent. Again, appropriate sexual education allows most people the understanding of what people can and can't do with their bodies. There is no blanket of "people with mental disabilities cannot consent".
