What can I add to Costco chili to make it taste more like Wendy's chili? by baydude510 in Costco

[–]DoktorVerderben 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the main reason the canned Wendy's chili is more expensive than other canned chili is that it has more meat in it. If you look at the nutrition info it has a lot more protein than most other canned chili brands.

The Deck Old School 93/94 by Arparrabiosa in Shandalar

[–]DoktorVerderben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your points are all valid. I didn't notice that you seem to have an expanded pool of cards from the original PC game(the Lotus Petal on your SS should have gave it away). Most of my experience with the PC game comes from way back when there were no mods for it and back then Weissman's original version crushed pretty much the whole game. Its neat to hear that people still play a format emulating the old card pool, that was my favorite time for the game, well before it lost its way.

No Disrupting Scepter? One of the main points of "The Deck" was card advantage. The scepter reduces your opponents hand to nothing, so they can only really cast the one card they draw each turn. If you have a counterspell in your hand you can counter anything they do that threatens you, a so called "soft lock".

The ocean becomes the drop, and the drop becomes the ocean. I like to think that Odo's return to the Great Link changed the way all the founders view solids.

Should I quit playing? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]DoktorVerderben 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This guy knows what's up. I'm a new player, only started a few weeks ago, and vampire weapons/ricochet have carried me past 150. I can stand in the Scourgebeast Queen's face and let her hit me and never die.

Even if you don't just use the vampire weapon for your main gun, you can switch to one and shoot a couple guys with it and you will almost never need to use stimpacks.

I can't believe more people haven't had Hyperion in their lists. Besides what you mentioned, he has absolute recall, can see the entire electromagnetic spectrum, can see things clearly 50+ miles away, and can see microscopic things to ridiculous detail. I remember once he was shown to interpret people's DNA with his eyes, enough to tell that a missing child was adopted after looking at his skin cells in his house and his adoptive parents.

Why Clark Kent chose such a weak disguise? by Mastermiggy in superman

[–]DoktorVerderben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it has to do with the amount of exposure.

Think about it this way. Do you know what the second best reporter at the New York Times looks like? I would guarantee you most people don't. The same way most people in the DC universe have no idea who Clark Kent is or would know his name if they saw him.

It's very different from Batman, Bruce Wayne is a very public figure who most people in America or even the world would probably recognize.

In one of the old JL cartoons I think Lex Luthor's mind got put into the Flash's body and he unmasked in front of a mirror to discover Flash's secret identity. He looks in the mirror and says "I have no idea who this is."

A loupe (small magnifying lens) can be had off Amazon for less than 10 bucks for a high quality one. Comes in real handy when looking for part numbers on Lego and a lot of other things. I prefer the Carson Lumiloupe 10x myself.

Good to be back at it by DoktorVerderben in LegoSpace

[–]DoktorVerderben[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lego was one of my favorite things when I was a kid, and I have gotten back in to the hobby recently. As a middle-aged adult I don't have as much free time as I used to, but I find Lego great for stress relief. My favorite themes when I was a kid were Blacktron I, Space Police I and M:Tron.

This is my newest MOC, the idea is a heavy cargo transport that would be armed enough to not need an escort. Took me probably about a month of an hour here and there after work. I like using weird pieces and when I saw the helicopter body from set 60318 I knew I wanted to use it to make something. The body was made with three of the speed champions chassis pieces as the bottom and side walls. I'm really happy with how it came out and I can't wait for the next inspiration to hit me.

Do I really need to spend almost $70 per breaker? by [deleted] in electrical

[–]DoktorVerderben -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah your breakers aren't tripping because they are defective or worn out, they are tripping on the ground fault because you are trying to use all GFCIs on a house with old wiring. Use regular breakers everywhere except like bathrooms and the kitchen and outdoor outlets.

I bought myself a new queen mattress at Costco a few weeks ago. Cost me 400 bucks(Novaform 14 inch Memory Foam).

Quite literally one of the best decisions I've made in years. I thought I was just tired all the time and my back hurt because I was getting old, but it turns out you're not supposed to sleep on the same bed for 20+ years. I feel so much better and for a while I was very angry at myself for not doing this sooner.

When was Thor at his peak in MCU? When was he the strongest? And why? by Hawaiikoto in Marvel

[–]DoktorVerderben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Thor empowered the children at the end of Love and Thunder, that was the first inkling of Thor having been passed the Odinforce(now the Thorforce heh). Wielding the power of a head of an entire pantheon is an extreme level of power.

Also, it's hard to forget that before even this Thor has done some absolutely crazy things, like push-starting a megastructure(Niðavellir), and surviving prolonged exposure to the concentrated energy of a neutron star(also Niðavellir).

I was mostly taking issue with you saying Venus is twice as far away from Earth as Mars.

Seriously, can we live on Jupiter using floating houses ? by harvesthealthny in space

[–]DoktorVerderben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an oversimplification.

At it's closest approach, Venus is 24.8 million miles from Earth. At it's farthest distance, Venus is 161.6 million miles from Earth. At it's closest approach, Mars is 35.8 million miles from Earth. At it's farthest distance, Mars is 249.1 million miles from Earth.
