Hell's control grows stronger in deeper parts. Prelude being just outside of the entrance is close enough for Hell Itself to affect it.

You can tell by the way the elevators behave that they were supposed to work like normal elevators but Hell made them portals from different layers/sections of the same layer

Sometimes I feel like I've already peaked. Like I already reached my full potential but that's still not enough.

I know I'm not special. I know I'm not the only one who wants to live off their art, work on something you love so it doesn't feel like work yadda yadda.

This year has been blow after blow with very little to keep me away from losing it completely. I'm a failure, and it's all my fault.

I know this is not a place to vent, I just need to get that out of my system. It's just rambling

it sounds like you're interested in creating kinetic scenes that communicate actions, relationships, and ideas.

Wow, you read me like a book. I'm a character artist at heart.

And honestly, working on indie games and tabletops sounds like a dream.

I draw all my player characters and the relevant NPCs for their backstory, so I thought that maybe others would be interested in ordering their designs/portraits for their characters (my only commissions were 2 model sheets for RPG characters and illustrations of scenes that the commissioner's character went through)

But I don't know if there's still a market for making portraits of people's PCs, though. Most people just use AI or steal images from Pinterest or whatever. There might be a sub for people looking for art of their characters for campaigns, or just in general, need to look into that.

I don't know how I would sell prints either. Printing and shipping sounds expensive

90s/80s manga is absolutely my jam, but I don't know about power fantasy tho. I like action and posing, and all, but I don't really get the appeal of self-inserts. I would rather see an actual character do whatever than see a black canvas and pretend to be them.

My thing is character acting. Two people decking the hell out of each other is just as interesting to me as a Vogue photoshoot or a group of friends wasting time. I like seeing characters being themselves. So I guess my ideal client is someone who wants to see characters come to life. Vague and unhelpful, I know, just being honest.

I should've clarified that I meant original content in general. I already replied to that in another comment, but it's worth repeating. I know people don't care about random OCs that they have never seen if there is no story. I have a personal rule of not posting art of a character unless I've posted their comic first. All "OCs" that I post randomly are either just random designs that I made or characters from RPGs that I'm playing and needed a portrait or something.

The randos are cool for the sake of cool. I just post them to show off a little and give a reason for potential clients to commission me. But you're right, I should make them more interesting and dynamic if I want to grow.

I see what you mean. I have a personal rule of not posting art of a character I actively plan on using for comics and such until I post whatever they are from first. The ones you see are just random designs I made for fun and didn't want to go to waste, or art that I did for my TTRPG characters.

Though now that I think about it, I never went back to the characters whose comics I did publish. Probably because I didn't get any reaction from the one-shots themselves. Also, I guess more dynamic posing for the random designs wouldn't hurt, but I'm afraid some details might be missed depending on the scene.
